Image Burn In - What Does This Mean?

Frequently Asked Questions - Military & Law Enforcement Tech...
Night Vision Devices (NVD's) were developed over 40 years ago by the U.S. Military. The first NVD's were "Active" IR (infrared) devices, meaning the viewing device could "see" infrared light focused on an object, similar to the way the eye sees a conventional torch beam. The difference is that the IR light beam is invisible to the naked eye, so the viewer could observe the subject undetected. The user would focus an IR beam, then "see" what the beam illuminated with their scope.

What does image compression mean?

Although images should be permanently archived as raw data or with only lossless data compression, hardware and software technology exists that allows teleradiology systems to compress digital images into smaller file size so that the images can be transmitted faster. Compression is usually expressed as a ratio - 3:1, 10:1 or 15:1. A 10:1 compression factor means that the file size of the image is 1/10th the size as the original. How does Floppy Image read a disk?

Towodo Software - Floppy Image FAQ
Floppy Image reads a disk track by track. Since Floppy Image reads a disk in this way it doesn't care about invisible files, filesystems or bootsectors as long as the floppy controller in the floppy drive supports the format of the disk. Amiga floppy disks are not compatible with PC floppy controllers and will therefore never be supported. Consider the image below which shows the surface of a floppy disk (or a harddrive platter for that matter). The disk rotates around its center.

Why can't I find the image of me in front of the ReefCam or BeachBarCam, etc.?

Bonaire WebCams - FAQ
Either the image you are looking for doesn't exist or you're not looking properly. There could be two reasons for nonexistent images: First, when you were posing for the images on one of the Cams, you didn't stay visible long enough or consistently enough to be captured (currently, images are captured every two minutes) - that is the most likely cause.
