Polyester is a man-made fabric which results in a garment which is extremely light and comfortable to wear, with excellent quick drying and chlorine resistant properties. Polycotton is a more natural fabric and feels more like the t-shirts that you put on your children. This is ideal for infant or sensitive skins, but takes a little longer to dry than polyester. Both fabrics achieve the same SPF of 50+ and fit in the same way.

Acetate pages open on the top and bottom. The pages are very clear and will not have an acid reaction with your images that vinyl potentially could. Acetate pages are appropriate for color images and computer prints. They are also suitable for glossy prints or laser copies. Vinyl pages are comparatively more resistant to blurring, scratching or tearing and are sealed at the bottom. Vinyl pages are applicable for black and white images, tearsheets or brochures.

Due to the physical capabilities of aramid fabrics or aramid composite structures used in each of the above two functions, neither one will work effectively for the other. The reason for this is due to the weave count. Typically fabrics are comprised with a specified crossover weave count that is measured by the square inch. The higher the count the tighter the crimp between crossover points. Stab resistant fabrics rely on extremely tight, closely packed crossover points.

Polyester is a very strong film with high internal strength and good folding qualities; it will withstand heavy use and is very hard to puncture or tear. Polyester is available in 1.5-mil, 2-mil, or 4-mil thickness. Polypropylene is a softer, more flexible and conformable material, and is offered in a 2.5-mil thickness. Polypropylene is more economical than polyester, but does not offer the same strength or durability.

The difference is primarily the thermal and chemical compatibility. Traditionally the polyester is used on steel ring bags and polypropylene on the plastic flange. Polyester fabric is a tightly woven fabric with excellent resistance to water/coolant with moderate heat resistance when compared to other reinforcing fabrics. Polyester reinforced hoses are typically used on intercooler pipes, intakes, TB connections and even custom cooling system applications. The temperature limitations of polyester reinforced hoses ranges from -65°F to +350°F.

Polyester rope is bright white where as cotton rope is more of a beige color. Polyester rope will last longer outdoors then cotton rope. Some people say that cotton rope is more comfortable then polyester. This is largely a matter of opinion.

Lycra (Spandex) is softer and has greater stretch capability allowing for more flexibility. Its fabric has a rubberized elastic material. This is especially important for Synchro Swimmers. However due to the rubberized elastic material Lycra tends to breakdown earlier than Polyester because the chlorine attacks the rubberized elastic material in the fabric.

Both are printing substrates, which differ by the fact that the acetate is a transparency that produces the illusion that its printing is floating within the acrylic piece while the white paper insert does not yield this effect.

Open Air' covers are specifically designed for aircraft that are parked outside all year round. These covers are made pure acrylic, which is very tough and yet very soft, UV stable, extremely fade resistant and is breathable. The fabric is treated in manufacture with a waterproofing agent that can be renewed. Open Air covers are attached with high-tension webbing straps and buckles.

All our fabrics are commercial grade. All upholstery materials meet and exceed the minimum requirements to be classified as commercial grade. Our standard fabrics and upgrade categories are based on the cost of the material.

Natural fabrics: cotton, silk, Hatian cotton, etc. These fabrics must be color locked and cleaned with a solvent based cleaner by a trained professional or the colors will bleed, the upholstery will brown or yellow, etc. That is why natural fibers are more expensive to clean than synthetic. Synthetic fabrics: polyester, Herculean, denim, etc. These materials are more durable than natural fibers and can be cleaned with a water based cleaner in most cases.

Clear-Lay is a vinyl based film that is very economical, easy to cut, has a low heat tolerance and is acid free. Dura-Lar is a polyester based film known for its clarity and stability. It has a high heat tolerance, will not tear or discolor and is archival. Acetate is a general purpose film that tears easily, does not have a high heat tolerance and is NOT acid free.

Polyester is synthetic/man-made resin formed by the condensation of polyhydric alcohols (alcohols containing more than one hydroxyl group) with dibasic acids (acids containing two replaceable hydrogen atoms). Polyesters are thermosetting plastics, used in making synthetic fibers, such as Dacron and Terylene, and constructional plastics. The outstanding characteristics of polyesters is their ability to resist wrinkling and to spring back into shape when creased.

Polyester films, like USI OptiClear, are clearer and a higher quality than lower grade films, which tend to be foggy. Premium films also endure extreme environments and severe stress conditions more favorably. Films with higher polyester content are more rigid and feel thicker than films with more adhesive content. Polypropylene film is softer than polyester, but still has excellent clarity.

They are not recommended for use in high humidity or exposure to water, as volume swell and reduction of properties may result. Because of inherent advantages in low heat build-up, polyether-based urethanes are recommended for applications undergoing medium to high stress.

Cotton rope hammocks are made from natural fibers and their soft cotton like feel results in a very comfortable hammock bed. These hammocks are typically beige in color (the natural color of cotton). Cotton rope hammocks are perfect for people who can take their hammock out of the elements on a normal basis to store. Hammocks made from polyester rope are designed to be weather resistant. As a result, these hammocks can have a very long lifespan.

Answer: We use a variety of fabrics in our products to satisfy the end-users needs. Some of the materials used are Cotton - which is a long lasting hypoallergenic fiber. It is an absorbent fiber and have in general good wearing properties. CoolMax - which is proven to have the fastest drying rate, and quickest and most efficient movement of moisture away from the skin. CoolMax is non-chafing and stays soft. Nylon - which has a very good strength and elasticity to it.
