Many organizations are concerned about supply chain security. ICSC sometimes works with organizations to promote best practices in supply chain security. Such associations share common concerns about international trade and security issues.

Under C-TPAT, importers are required to assess their supply chains. Based upon a documented risk-assessment process, non-C-TPAT-eligible business partners are subject to verification of compliance with C-TPAT security criteria by the importer. The International Cargo Security Council's C-TPAT assessment process enables importers to meet this requirement cost-effectively.

ICSC has been a supporter of C-TPAT since its inception in 2002; indeed, ICSC was part of the team that developed C-TPAT. After a competitive bidding process, ICSC chose Pinkerton to provide a variety of C-TPAT solutions. ICSC chose Pinkerton because of its supply chain security experience, C-TPAT expertise, and global coverage. Through its partnership with Pinkerton, ICSC offers application assistance, pre-validation reviews, compliance assessments, CD-based education, and much more.

The certificate of compliance is issued to facilities with procedures and practices in place to meet the requirements of C-TPAT. The certificate can be used with other customers, and it provides a competitive advantage. The certificate demonstrates that an independent third party has verified compliance with C-TPAT.

The Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a joint government and business initiative designed to strengthen overall supply chain and border security. The goal of C-TPAT is to create a more secure supply chain through cooperative partnerships between government and business. To learn more about C-TPAT visit:

Partnership in C-TPAT is voluntary. Participates include supply chain members such as importers, brokers, carriers, terminal operators, warehouse operators, and manufacturers.

C-TPAT provides businesses an opportunity to play an active role in the war against terrorism, while improving processing times for imports and increasing overall security for their employees, suppliers and customers.

C-TPAT participants must submit a supply chain security profile for review by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The security profile must address C-TPAT security guidelines that include: Procedural Security, Physical Security, Education and Training, Access Controls, and Manifest Procedures.

C-TPAT stands for "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism" and PIP stands for "Partners In Protection". C-TPAT is a program of the U.S. Customs Service, (USCS), and PIP is a program of the Canadian Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, (CCRA).

Answer: CBP expects that its partners in C-TPAT will provide the required information under this rule as a regular part of their security-related procedures. Accurate and timely cargo declarations are critical to the delivery of the cargo release benefits that are part of C-TPAT participation. While C-TPAT participants will not be excluded from the advance reporting requirements, their participation in the program will be taken into account during the targeting process.

noted in the answer to question No. 1 above, it is a cost-effective solution to demonstrate compliance for both the importer and the importer's business partners. By having a compliance assessment conducted, a facility receives the ICSC compliance certificate, which is recognized by most U.S. companies and can be used as evidence of compliance with other customers, thereby reducing the need to have multiple audits by multiple customers.

The International Recording Media Association (IRMA) has established the world's first Anti-Piracy Certification/Compliance Program for the manufacture of CDs, DVDs and CD-ROMs. Technicolor is certified by IRMA as a manufacturer that complies with the anti-piracy system requirements for the manufacture of optical media.

Certification is pending. We have applied and forwarded the necessary documentation for FAST and C-TPAT certification.

C-TPAT requires that U.S. importers work with their supply chain partners to ensure that important security measures are in place and adhered to throughout their supply chain. By attending a seminar, supply chain partners will understand what security measures they must and/or should have in place if they are to continue to maintain a working relationship with U.S. importers. ICSC's C-TPAT seminars provide a detailed understanding of the requirements at a minimal expense.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection cannot endorse any company or organization, but it is aware of the ICSC C-TPAT program. The assessment program is comprehensive and covers all of the elements of the C-TPAT requirements. C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary government-business initiative to enhance international supply chain and U.S. border security. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, administers C-TPAT.

Not at this point, but we hope to make MAGL seminars available at other locations in the future. As the Master of Arts in Global Leadership program develops, we expect eventually to include cohorts made up of students from specific regions of the U.S. and other areas of the world. Intensive seminars for such cohorts would be held at central locations as close as possible to a majority of students.

Currently, the Relationship Institute offers one seminar at a time, but more seminars are in the planning stages. We average 2-3 per semester. Seminars are an excellent opportunity to learn new skills, perfect old ones, and see and hear a different perspective in the martial arts.

The seminars are active for a two-week period.  There is no requirement to be in the course on a specific day or time.  Instead, participants would enter the course as often as possible and should expect to spend about 10 hours of time over the two weeks.  The time will be spent on reading course materials, working on the course project and participating in online discussions with the faculty expert and other participants.

this time there is not enough demand to justify production of a regional seminar for the new Highway 3D program (producing and delivering new seminar content requires a lot of time and energy). However, we have purchased the Highway 3D software from AGTEK and we do intend to offer regional seminars for it when demand reaches a sufficient geographic density.
