A good rule of thumb is to base your decision on how much deer pressure you have and how large of an enclosure you wish to make. If you have a small backyard, and not much deer pressure, then the standard fence would be more than adequate. If you have more than 400’ linear feet and the pressure is fairly intense, we highly recommend using the Heavy-Duty Fence.

Since a fence is a relatively permanent structure, you will want to be sure of the location of your property lines before construction. A prudent course of action is to locate existing property corners that delineate your property line and have the validity of the monuments verified by a surveyor. If you are unable to find your property corners, ask for assistance from your surveyor. They may be able to find monuments using a magnetic locator and cloth tape.

Permits are required on all fences built, except when repairing or replacing a portion of the fence -- limited to two (2) sections or sixteen (16) feet. Fences may be built up to eight (8) feet in height from grade on the rear and side yards of the main structure. It may not matter to you. If you're fishing an open sand beach with no obstructions, light line is fine and you can let a fish run. But if you fish around a jetty, or near the pilings of a bridge, you might need to haul a fish away from an obstruction. A big fish in an inlet can use the current to stay away from you long enough for the hook to become loose in the jaw. That's when the higher torque and heavy line ability of a conventional reel is so useful.

A temporary solution might be to enclose your garden with utility wire or chicken wire held up by T-posts. If you want a more permanent fence you can use Stockade fence with utility wire. Remember . . . you cannot stop gophers, moles, and prairie dogs with a fence.

Yes; we do not carry "light duty" scaffolding. Our sets all rate over 60,000 lbs to collapse. Osha generally allows a manufacturer to rate their product with a 4 to 1 load safety margin. We like 16 to 1. So 60,000/16 = 3,750lbs. We like being on the safe side of things. Rest assured that rating our sets at 3,750 with a 16X safety factor should assure you of the ability of one or two men to stand high up with the utmost in safety and confidence.

Yes. It is highly recommended that your Collie be kept in a safe environment. If you are not home during the day, a 12'x8' pen with a dog house is fine for your Collie to hang out in. Collies have an undercoat for warmth & an outer coat to repel weather. They enjoy being outdoors, but hate to be tied-out. A run is not always the best solution as they tend to run back and forth and bark. Many breeders will not sell a dog unless there is a fenced yard due to the incidence of "hit by car" deaths.

A building permit is not required for fences up to 72 inches and freestanding masonry walls up to 48 inches in height above the height of the adjacent grade. All fences over 72 inches and walls over 48 inches require permits. In all cases, you must check with the Planning Division on Zoning regulations applicable to all fences. Planning Department approval is required to ensure new and reconstructed fences meet current standards. Fences within 5 feet of a street abutting property line are limited to 4 feet in height and must be visually open. Fences more than 5 feet from the front property line may be up to 6 feet in height, must be screened with landscaping and may be constructed of a solid material. It depends on the type of surface material - please see the "Question and Answer" immediately above. Since Staticide is a water-based product, Heavy Duty Staticide can not be used on table tops or chairs made of fine, finished wood because it would leave a greasy residue on the surface in addition to damaging the surface.

Eventually, the Heavy Duty Staticide will be abraded off by any friction or if it is washed off with soap and water. Specifically, general vacuuming will not remove the Staticide treatment but shampooing will.

Light duty" antifreeze is intended primarily for gasoline-engine passenger car applications. "Heavy duty" antifreeze is intended for diesel engines in both on- and off-highway applications. Diesel engines in heavy-duty truck and construction equipment have more severe corrosion prevention requirements than gasoline-engines in passenger cars and therefore require more corrosion inhibitors.

Medium Duty Base is an economical closed cell latex-free natural rubber base material that is up to 55% lighter than our standard Heavy Duty Rubber base.
