Answer: A Rural Health Clinic is a clinic certified to receive special Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. The purpose of the RHC program is improving access to primary care in underserved rural areas. RHCs are required to use a team approach of physicians and midlevel practitioners (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives) to provide services. The clinic must be staffed at least 50% of the time with a midlevel practitioner.

At this time we are not able to recommend or endorse any other service or organisation for bad breath treatment. We do recommend thorough medical and dental examinations to rule out any physical or dental causes, and a complete daily oral cleaning routine which includes flossing and tongue cleaning.

Public Health is not a "full-service" medical facility. We do not offer primary medical care for adults or children. We do offer a range of medical and support services, however, some of which are also provided in doctors' offices. Our mission is to prevent disease and injury and to lessen the impact of disease. We strive to make our services accessible to anyone in Champaign County, and some of our services are available to people in other counties.

We do have a limited amount of transportation to the health clinic. The fare is $1.00 each way or $2.00 round trip.

Yes. All currently enrolled students can be seen by a nurse practitioner at the USF Clinic. Students should bring their valid USF ID and insurance card if possible. Services such as evaluation and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries, health education and evaluation of health concerns, womens health issues, annual exams, smoking cessation counseling and stress management counseling are offered without charge.

Yes. It is located in the Donaghey Student Center on the main undergraduate campus. All office visits and consultations are free. Most medications, dressing and supplies, to take care of immediate needs, are also free. There is a small charge for some screenings and injections.

Yes. Bruce Hall is located practically across the street from the new UNT Health Services Center. The UNT health clinic provides emergency services to all students during normal business hours, and students are housed only minutes away from Denton Presbyterian Hospital, a major trauma center. In the event that the Health Clinic is closed, we will arrange transportation to the ER.
