The distance from the Munich airport to Hotel Uhland (and the center of town) is about 40 kilometers. The time you need depend on the traffic and takes at least 50 minutes. From the airport use highway A 92 and A 9 to "München". Exit: M-Schwabing" (on the end of the highway). Follow the signs for Mittlerer Ring West into Petueltunnel. Leave the tunnel at exit Milbertshofen, cross the first street and go left at the second street into Schleißheimer Strasse until it ends.

Use train S-1 or S-8 to Hauptbahnhof. Walk to the main entrance (exit) on the ground floor. Use bus 58 with the same ticket to the second stop: "Georg-Hirth-Platz". From the bus stop you can see our house: Uhlandstrasse Nr. 1. Buy the MVV-Ticket (Munich Transportation System: underground, S-Bahn, tram and bus) outside of the MVV aria from the blue automatic ticket machine, before boarding and stamp it (blue endorsing machine with a letter E on it) before you get on the train.

Yes. Some actually just go for a day and then drop off the car. That is kind of extreme. It would be a terrible shame to not take advantage of the car in Europe.

When you exit the airport, take I-94 East to the Southfield exit. Go North on Southfield to Ford Rd. West exit. Exit, and go West to the Service drive. Once you exit you will be able to see the hotel. It nestles next to the Office Depot and the fast food place (turn right at the conveniently placed traffic light) on the service drive in the Northwest corner of the intersection of Southfield & Ford Rds.

The walking distance is approximately ten minutes (if the luggage is not to heavy). Use exit on the side, Bayerstrasse, turn right until Paul-Heyse- Strasse, then left for three blocks to Georg-Hirth-Platz. You will find Uhlandstrasse and Hotel Uhland behind the parking places on the right hand side. If you want to ride the bus, please take bus 58 at the main entrance in front of the railroad station (this is the end stop) for two stops to Georg-Hirth-Platz.

In the tunnel stay on the right lane and get off at the first exit, direction: "Stadtmitte". the first traffic light (with a bus stop) turn right into Landsberger Strasse, direction: "Stadtmitte". On the end (after approximately 1 km) turn right into Martin-Greif-Strasse, stay on the right lane, cross Schwanthaler-Strasse (at traffic light), when the road splits (after about 100 meters) turn left into Bavariaring.

Coming from Salzburg, change at "Autobahnkreuz München Süd" (street cross) to Autobahn Garmisch, direction into Munich. When the Autobahn ends, stay straight ahead until you crossed the river "Isar" and than follow signs for ?Stadtmitte" or ?Zentrum". This will bring you on to Lindwurmstrasse. After a short while, please turn left into Herzog-Heinrich-Strasse.

Depending on your itinerary, the transfer can be as short as a few minutes or as long as 2 or more hours. It may seem unwise to have such a bus ride following an international overnight flight, but remember: your hotel room will not be ready until late afternoon. So even if you stay in the same city for the first night, you will tour the area for about five or six hours before arriving at the hotel. Back to top

In Bangkok, a range of options are available. When you book your hotel room, you can arrange for a hotel limousine to collect you. We have staff on duty to meet most flights and they will escort you to the car. After a long flight, it is wonderful not to have to worry about finding a taxi. Alternatively, you can take one of the metered taxis that are available. Please ensure that they do switch on the meter. There is a surcharge of 50 Baht for taking a taxi from the airport.

Bradley is about 40 minutes from New Haven / East Haven so we wouldn't recommend a taxi drive - renting a car at the airport would be recommended.

In both cities, there are taxis, limousines, express buses, shuttles and public transit services to take you from the airport to your hotel or to the centre of the city. Fares vary by service and airport. Some major hotel chains also operate guest shuttles to/from airports.

the end of the highway go straight ahead (street name is changing several times, into: Verdistrasse, Amalienburgstrasse, Menzingerstrasse until Arnulfstrasse). From Menzingerstrasse you see the streetcar tracks on your left. Follow the tracks until the street goes a little bit down hill (this happens in Arnulfstrasse). At the next traffic light you see a tunnel on the right. Turn right into the tunnel.

We can arrange an airport transfer for you or you can take a local taxi. There is a transportation desk inside the airport that can help you arrange an official taxi when you arrive if desired.

It's probably best to get a taxi, which will take just over an hour. Another possibility is to catch one of the marshrutki, or minibus-taxis, which leave every five to 10 minutes and take 20 minutes to reach the Rechnoi Vokzal metro station. Take the metro from there to Belorusskaya, change to the Koltsevaya line (colored brown on the metro map) and travel on to Prospekt Mira, from where the hotel is 10 minutes on foot.

Again, your best option is probably a taxi, which should take just over an hour. Or there's the marshrutka option: They leave about every five minutes, and take 40 minutes to get to Domodedovskaya metro station. Take the metro to Pavletskaya, change to the Koltsevaya line (colored brown on the metro map) and travel on to Prospekt Mira. Then you have a 10-minute walk to the hotel.

with Domodedovo, a taxi ride will take about an hour and a half. The marshrutki leave less frequently - every 10 minutes - and take 30 minutes to get to Yugo-Zapadnaya. From Yugo-Zapadnaya (Sokolnicheskaya line, colored red on the metro map) travel to Park Kultury, change to the Koltsevaya line (colored brown on the metro map) and travel on to Prospekt Mira. From there it's a 10-minute walk to the hotel.
