According to the World Health Organization, approximately 30% of all commercial buildings have significant IAQ problems. Similar estimates have been made by others. I am unaware of any similar estimates in regards to residences.

The vast majority of IAQ problems are relatively minor. This means that occupants may suffer health effects such as cold or flu-like symptoms. In the case of workplaces, some individuals may miss some work days, and productivity will be affected. Serious and/or permanent health effects are much rarer, however they do occur, as in the case of Legionnaire's disease outbreaks. IAQ is a new field in many ways.

In addition to the trend toward tight buildings, indoor air quality can be degraded by a number of factors, including: Inadequate or malfunctioning building HVAC and filtration systems resulting in excessive levels of carbon dioxide or odors and gases Release of solvents (e.g., formaldehyde) or other manufacturing chemicals from construction materials Outside pollution sources that infiltrate the indoor environment (such as vehicle fumes from a loading dock)

Everyone is at risk for getting cavities throughout life. By the time most people are adults, 85 percent of people will have had a cavity! You naturally have bacteria (germs) in your mouth. The bacteria mix with your saliva and bits of food in your mouth to form a coating (dental plaque) that sticks to your teeth. There are acids in the plaque that wear away the teeth. These acids can get inside the teeth and create holes in the teeth, or cavities.

Some of the common problems are those caused by injuries from accidents that occur at home, at work, on the highways, and from competitive sports. The most frequent are: ruptured discs and sciatica In addition to injuries, Orthopaedists also treat more chronic conditions such as problems with the back, legs, and feet. These include: Orthopaedic practice also includes the treatment of arthritis and bursitis.

Video monitor problems are usually caused by mis-matches of the monitor and the chosen monitor profile. They are usually characterized by no video on the monitor (this could also be due to the system hanging) or un-synchronized video. If no monitor profile is available for your monitor you may need to choose a generic monitor profile. Before doing this, make sure you know what the maximum horizontal and vertical frequencies of your monitor are.

Household cleansers, laundry detergents, air fresheners, aerosols, insecticides, insects, pet hair, dander, contents from litter boxes, cigarette smoke, food, dust (dust mites), people (dead skin, hair, perfume, etc.), carpet, construction materials, just to name a few. The best air purifier we have found, hands down, that reduces the most symptoms people experience with asthma is the IQair HealthPro or the IQair HealthProPlus.

With poor IAQ, the same air born particles are circulated continuously throughout the building. This can lead to an unhealthy and uncomfortable indoor environment and put you and your family's health at risk. Resulting problems can range from recurring flus and aggravated allergies to persistent coughs, headaches, and poor concentration. Statistics show that 1 out of 3 North American families has at least 1 person who suffers from some sort of respiratory ailment.

In the U.S., the most common eye diseases among seniors are macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy. Age-related macular degeneration is the leading cause of low vision for people in the U.S. over 50; it accounts for almost 45 percent of all cases of low vision.

In general, different species are rescued with characteristically different problems. Among California sea lions, the most common problems are internal parasites, such as lungworm, roundworm and liverflukes; many of these are also found in domestic dogs and cats. One California sea lion passed a tapeworm that was 96 feet long! Another common ailment is pneumonia, often complicated by parasites. Other sea lions have an assortment of injuries, from net wounds to animal bites.

Even if you and your family feel well, pollutants and allergens are always present in the air. Over time, they may affect your health, cause serious health problems and even cause you to develop allergies. To protect yourself, the replacement of fresh air is necessary. Different building codes in North America suggest that the replacement of interior air should occur once every three hours, while certain international codes recommend air replacement every two hours.

There is an action plan in our guidelines to guide the building owners on how to handle poor indoor air quality problems. The action plan has 4 stepwise procedures: walk-through inspection, environmental health survey, indoor air quality audit and remedial action.

If necessary, hire an IAQ consultant to investigate the building. Be forewarned: There is currently no license, degree, certification, or training that will guarantee getting a competent job of investigation done. Check out references, make sure the person has done similar work before. For more information, see section 11.

Communication! One partner wants to talk while the other needs time to think things through first; or one partner focuses on the facts and details while the other focuses on possibilities; or one partner is logical while the other emotional; or one partner likes things neat and organized while the other likes things open-ended and flexible. Neither is wrong but the differences create ongoing conflict.

Solution ? You will need rain gear! Be prepared. The course continues rain or shine. Only lightning storms result in a cancellation. We rarely cancel. Most sites do not have indoor shelter. Even in warm weather, you can develop hypothermia if it rains. Be smart, stay dry. Problem - "I'm too hot." The heavy jacket that was "just right" in the morning is now too hot in the afternoon sun. A long-sleeved shirt under a jacket or sweat shirt can be the perfect combo.

Most owners report a transmission "clunk" when letting off of the throttle just as the tranny does a 1-2 shift. Most dealers call this normal. TSB 67-71-47 describes a 3-2 part throttle downshift flare (replace 3-2 solenoid). Some owners with 4L60-E trans built before May 24, 1996/ Julian date 6145 may experience an engine speed flare of 1000-2000 RPM, during a part throttle downshift at 19-31 mph. This condition will not set any DTC's.

High blood glucose (hyperglycemia): There may be times when your blood sugar (glucose) levels go too high. This can happen when you are ill or under stress, eat too much, or have too little insulin in your blood. High blood glucose can cause headaches, blurry vision, frequent urination, increased thirst, and dry itchy skin. Ketones:Test your urine for ketones if you experience a blood glucose reading of over 240 mg/dl (13 mmol/L) are sick, or have any of the symptoms listed above.

One common problem encountered when porting software to Cygwin/X is due to Cygwin's inability to distinguish between files with the same name but different capitalization (e.g. XvMC.h and xvmc.h), which is due to a Windows' limitation. This example is based off an error that actually occurred in the source code tree in xc/programs/Xserver/Xext/xvmc.c. xvmc.c included XvMC.h, as shown below: The intention was to include the file xc/include/extensions/XvMC.h.

Artificial Containers. In an urban environment, containers present the most common cause for mosquito problems. For example, one five-gallon bucket can produce hundreds of mosquitoes in a ten day period. Since some mosquitoes travel no more than a few hundred feet from their breeding source, one bucket can cause mosquito problems for a lot of people. There are a number of black mosquitoes, but the most common, and most troublesome, is the Asian Tiger Mosquito.
