A computer is required, but it does not have to be a notebook computer (laptop). You are required to have a computer that will meet or exceed the specifications set forth by the School of Pharmacy. Laptop computers are encouraged for any practitioner entering the program who either has or anticipates an extensive travel schedule. Using a computer other than a laptop would minimize the chance for success in the program due to missed work. Please assess your travel honestly.

The computer may be used in accordance with the Lease Agreement signed by each student when the computers are distributed. Although the computers remain the property of JBU, students may use them for any activity related to their education.

If you remain in the BIS program throughout the entire program and complete the requirements of the degree, you may obtain the notebook from JBU for one dollar. If you drop out of the program, you must return the notebook to JBU.

For your birding field notes. It lets you record what you see. It actually helps you to see, because when you try to write a description of a bird, that encourages you to observe carefully.

Because of the fragility and irreplaceability of many archival materials, restrictions for their protection are in place. We will provide blank paper and pencils.

The Unfiled notebook allows you to collect webpages without having to pick a specific notebook to put them in first. We've also integrated with Google Bookmarks, so that all of your bookmarks show up as Unfiled notes. If you bookmark new pages, they'll automatically be added to the Unfiled notebook. If you move a link from another notebook into Unfiled, it will show up in your Google Bookmarks.

Invite collaborators. Let others add and delete content in your Google Notebook by inviting them to edit. If you invite someone who doesn't have a Google account, we'll help them set one up. Create a public webpage. Publish your notebook to the web, allowing the public to view your notebook's content. Each room in the residence halls have access to the ethernet. The Library has more than 100 ethernet data jacks for you to access the Internet with portable laptops. The jacks marked with green tabs are ethernet lines for use by Notre Dame students, faculty and staff for access to the ND network. The jacks are located throughout the library. To use the jacks you must have ethernet on your laptop and a driver for your ethernet connection.

Yes. The Department is not a party to the purchase of the old notebooks, so this is not a factor. You may take up the offer on a new notebook as long as you remain a classroom teacher, school psychologist or school administrator in a W.A. government school with a 1-year minimum appointment, at 0.1 PTF or better. You are ineligible to take up the offer if you are not employed under these conditions, or are acting in or seconded to a different position.

No. Teachers do not lease the notebook directly, rather, the Department leases notebooks in large groups and provides them to teachers. Your fortnightly salary-packaged contribution covers roughly half of the 'raw' cost of leasing the notebooks. Other services e.g. insurance, extended warranty, telephone support and Internet connection are provided gratis.

You'll want a MacBook Pro with as large an internal disk as you can get, especially if you want to do video editing on planes. And fly American Airlines ("More room") so you can spread out with your notebook. When you fly lesser airlines, you'll find that when the person in front of you leans back in his seat, your PowerBook G4 will be crushed.
