SHAS is funded primarily by the donations of members and well wishers. Donations to SHAS are tax-deductible. A financial statement is available upon request. Since SHAS receives no city, state or federal funding we rely solely on charitable donations, fundraisers and the good will of people who love animals and want to help. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is located at Angel Canyon, a 33,000-acre ranch in the majestic red-rock country of southern Utah, just outside the town of Kanab. The sanctuary is at the heart of the famous Golden Circle of national parks, close to Zion National Park, the Grand Canyon's North Rim, Bryce Canyon, and Lake Powell.

Allies cannot be healed at Sanctuary - even in TWO TOWERS site path , unless it is in their ability to do so or if you discard a UNIQUE ALLY card from your hand to heal the same UNIQUE ally in play (like healing UNIQUE Companions). Only specific Allies with the ability to heal in their CARD TEXT can do so. Elrond, Lord of Rivendell CAN heal at FELLOWSHIP Site 3 and can use his special abilities only at THIS Site.

Sleepydust doesn't receive any outside funding from other organisations or from charity comissions etc. and solely depend on the financial support from our visitors to maintain and grow the site. In Arizona, the CASA program fund receives 30 percent of unclaimed state lottery prize money pursuant to A.R.S. §§ 5-518 and 8-524. Funds are appropriated annually by the Arizona state legislature.

Its funding comes from a broad range of sources: contributions; foreign countries, regions, provinces, chambers of commerce; trade associations; private and public companies; individual and corporate memberships; licensing; conference sponsorships and registrations; and educational publications and products.

The Drugs.com drug information service is supported by donations and revenue from site advertisers. The Drugs.com staff endeavor to source ads that are medically or community-service oriented. Interested gardeners met in November 1999 to discuss applying to the city for a Neighborhood matching grant to cover the costs of designing a garden in Magnuson Park. A Small and Simple, $10,000 grant was applied for under the name of the Magnuson Gardens Coalition. As part of the grant requirement, gardeners pledged volunteer time (in-kind match) to match the dollars of the grant. The grant was awarded to the group in March 2000 and the process of community outreach and garden design began.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funded the three year EPEAT development process through a cooperative agreement with the Zero Waste Alliance www.zerowaste.org. EPA is also providing $375,000 in grant money over three years to the Green Electronics Council to fund the initial startup costs. By the end of the start-up phase, EPEAT will be funded by fees paid by the manufacturers based on their relative size in the market.

We will upgrade the sound system and enhance acoustics in the Chapel and provide sound and video capability for the Assembly Room. The former Learning Center space will be converted to a Music Center for our growing choirs of all ages. In addition, our choir rehearsal space will be the location for our participation in a multi-church downtown Music Academy. The Central Music Academy (CMA) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that was chartered in 2004 by Central Christian Church.

To offset some of the heat generated by the 13,000 lights used on the tree, the Sanctuary is made cooler than normal during the presentations. Please dress warmly!

Lands purchased and managed by the EEL Program are called Sanctuaries. They serve three main functions:

Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s leading farm animal protection organization. Since incorporating in 1986, we have worked to expose and stop cruel practices of the “food animal” industry through research and investigations, legal and legislative actions, public awareness projects, youth education, and direct rescue and refuge efforts.

The objective of our Safe Sanctuary policy is to ensure a safe, secure Christian atmosphere for all children and students during Covenant-sponsored events and worship services. More information and a copy of our policy can be found here.

It is a lot tougher than it seems. Many people are under the erroneous assumption that they can build a sanctuary and the public will support it. Read How We Got Started to see what we did and perhaps learn from our trials and errors.

The lorikeets that feed at the sanctuary are wild birds, therefore we have no control over their numbers. The birds prefer to feed from natural sources rather than come to CWS during warmer weather, when there are many native trees in full bloom. Our aim is to provide a supplement to their diet, we do not replace it all.

No-kill" means that animals are not destroyed except in cases of terminal and painful illness, when compassion demands euthanasia because there is no reasonable alternative.
