Most doctors will do an intra-uterine insemination (IUI) the day after the LH surge, or about 36 hours after it is detected. With a vaginal insemination, or an intra-cervical insemination (ICI) in someone with good fertile mucus, the day of the surge may be preferable. The correct cycle starting date may have been miscalculated, or one of the above factors may have influenced test results. Each test cassette has built in quality controls which make a defective test highly unlikely. Recalculate your cycle test start date and repeat the testing in the next menstrual cycle. If the LH surge is still not detected, you may wish to consult a physician. An insufficient amount of urine has been dropped in the sample well on the cassette.

Do your ovulation detection kits using first morning urine. The morning that you have your positive surge call our office between 8-10 AM to schedule the insemination for the following morning. You do not need to continue testing once the LH surge has been identified. You may save any unused tests for future testing, however be certain not to open the sealed pouch of any test prior to immediate use to avoid possible contamination the sensitive testing area membrane.

No. Each test result should be read independently of any other test. When the LH surge occurs, that particular day’s test will show positive results. No. All urine based LH tests are intended to be used with each test independent from any other test. Once a positive test is obtained testing should be stopped. the LH surge has begun. Test results, including the color or intensity of test or control lines, cannot be compared or correlated one test to another.

The insemination method is up to the recipient. Artificial Insemination that can be done at home is the IVI (Intravaginal insemination) method which was used by my first recipient at her home and inducing an orgasm afterwards after each insemination with positive results and is the method I have used on all the others I have helped. Other methods MUST BE doctor assisted at a clinic such as ICI (Intracervical insemination), IUI (Intrauterine insemination) and IVF (In Vitro Fertilization).

It is possible to miss the surge. If you have a test line that is fairly dark one day then very light the next, you may have missed the actual surge. If your thermal shift occurs, you probably ovulated. It may be a good idea to test twice a day when you feel that you are close to ovulating. Another possibility is that you didn't hold your urine long enough (resulting in a diluted sample).

Once used, these supplies could harbor bacterial growth and contaminate or affect any specimens used with the same supplies at a later time. Order one set per specimen.

The number of straws required per insemination is determined by thawing a straw and rating its post thaw motility. For a frozen semen breeding you want to have a minimum of 100 million motile sperm per insemination. Each straw holds 50 million sperm but not all of them will survive the freezing process, hence the evaluation of "post thaw motility". The higher the percent post thaw motility the fewer straws are required.

The core of this method consists of facilitating the way of a sperm to the egg by injecting sperm, after special laboratory preparation, by means of a thin tube into the uterine cavity during the period of ovulation. The basic prerequisite for the application of this method is the preserved permeability of the Fallopian tubes. IUI can have a therapeutic effect in cases of disorders in male fertility, immunologically conditioned infertility and also in other indications.

Culture medium is layered on top. The specimen is left in the incubator at 37 degrees Celsius for one to two hours. The highly motile sperms will swim up into the culture medium. The enriched upper layer is then removed and sent to the clinic where it is flushed into the uterus using a flexible catheter. This procedure is performed during the time of ovulation in order to increase the chance of conception.

To be honest, we cannot give you any specific treatment plans in advance, Dr. Tippet will review your daily blood tests daily and make his clinical decisions based on those results. He will determine the timing of these procedures to enhance your chance of conception. Be prepared to be available for testing at least 7 times during the first two weeks of each cycle.

First, obtain a few 5cc syringes and specimen cups. Don't use a syringe larger than 5cc; it's not necessary. Sperm sample volumes range from .5cc to 4cc, with an average of about 1cc to 2cc. Also, in case you're wondering, don't use a needle with the syringe. It is dangerous and would likely damage the sperm, not to mention you! The syringe and specimen container should be clean and dry. If you wash and re-use them, be sure there are absolutely no water droplets left anywhere.

Insemination is a simple procedure, similar to a pelvic examination for PAP screening. Beyond simple discomfort, it is sometimes accompanied by mild uterine contractions (similar to menstrual pain), light staining and increased secretions.

If your are preparing for a post-coital test, you and your partner should have intercourse the evening of the kit change and come to the Women's Institute the next morning for the test. If your are preparing for an intrauterine insemination, please schedule an appointment on the day following the kit change. The semen specimen must be brought to the Women's Institute in a sterile container between 7:30AM and 8:30AM the day of the procedure.

The surge region, located on the left-hand side of the compressor map (known as the surge line), is an area of flow instability typically caused by compressor inducer stall. The turbo should be sized so that the engine does not operate in the surge range. When turbochargers operate in surge for long periods of time, bearing failures may occur. When referencing a compressor map, the surge line is the line bordering the islands on their far left side.
