The external HP IDE drives need their own drivers to be loaded to operate properly. These drivers will enable the operating system to correctly identify the drive and the IDE/EIDE port it is using, thus enabling NovaBACK to work properly. These necessary drivers should have been provided with the drive or you'll need to contact HP for them.
