The address book is incompatible because the field names are different. You will have to export your address book to an excel file, change the field names, and then import it into Outlook 2001. The step-by-step process is below. It took me a couple of tries, so I included my tips in the instructions below. Save as "Text (tab Delimited)," which will probably be the default choice.

Answer: From Outlook's menu bar select File → Import and Export... The action to choose is "Import Internet Mail and Addresses." Click the Next button. Select Outlook Express as the mail application and click the Next button. Elect to "Replace duplicates with items imported" and click the Finish button. Outlook will provide a summary report when it is finished.

Select the files you wish to export: select: Name, Nickname, Email address (you may wish to select other fileds, but webmail will only accept: Name, Alias, Email, Title, Company, Home Address, Work Address, Home Phone, Work Phone, Cell Phone, Fax, Notes) You can view all the entries in your personal addressbook by going to the "Addressbook->Search" and using an empty search/match criteria, choose From: "Personal Addressbook" (pulldown menu). Then click "Search" to display the items.

Save messages as .eml files. Open Outlook Express and then drag and drop the .eml files back into the Outlook Express inbox.

Make a note of what you currently have in the "incoming mail server" entry (the name of your POP3 server). Change the "incoming mail server" from the name of your POP3 server to "localhost" (no quotes). Open the SpamBayes configuration page at http://localhost:8880/config (you can do this via the tray application, or just type that address into your browser). Enter your POP3 server's name in the top box ("Remote Servers").

By default Outlook keeps email messages and attachments (including deleted messages) in your mailbox on the server. Keeping the data on the server allows access to your mailbox through the web and adds a great deal of flexibility. Unfortunately, the size of your mailbox will continue to increase and eventually our server will run out of space. To solve this problem, you must archive old email and calendar entries and place them on your workstation.

Gammadyne Mailer can import email addresses directly from the System Address Book. First, open the project that will use the email addresses. Make sure you have selected to use a Database, Recipient File, or Recipient List. Then, start the "Add Recipients" tool from the Tools menu. Click the appropriate "Extract From Address Book" button. Finally, click the "OK" button to complete the operation. See the help file for complete details.

In recent times after you have completed a 'Windows Update, the option to 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus' is automatically activated. To fix this problem, do the following:- Untick the box in the 'Virus Protection' section which says 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus', then click Apply, then OK.

If you are doing it for the first time, select My E-mail Messages from the task list, click the Wizard button on the toolbar and select Burn onto DVD or CD in Backup Wizard, click Next to Finish. Then, click the Backup button to perform the backup. Only the last step is required to perform the same backup again, or you may use the scheduler to perform backup automatically.

Repair all these dbx files or mbx files with the "Batch Repair" function in Advanced Outlook Express Repair(AOER). AOER will output the recovered messages in a corresponding "xxxx_recovered" directory for each repaired dbx file called 'xxxx'. Please just use the demo version to repair your file normally in the "Repair" page.

Illegal operations in Microsoft Mail Programs generally occur when one of the mailboxes (usually the inbox or the outbox) become corrupt. If this error message occurs immediately after entering the mail program the problem is probably your inbox. If the problem occurs immediately after doing a send and receive the problem is probably your outbox. To fix your Inbox go ahead with the following instructions, to fix your outbox simply replace any instance of inbox with outbox.

Update Outlook Express(OE) to the latest version from Windowsupdate.com. Use anti-virus software such as Norton Anti-virus to scan email. Personally, I never use the email scanning that NAV provides, because I use the latest OE and the following measures: Disable the Preview Pane when downloading messages from your ISP. A quick way to do this is to add a button to the toolbar.

There is no option in Outlook Express that allows this. However, Dominik Jain has come up with a solution. Not only does it position the cursor and colour the different levels of quoting, it converts emoticons such as :) to real images. Check out the website and download OE-Quotefix here.

The Internet Connection Wizard makes short work of setting up your email box by walking you through each step for every e-mail account you set up. Start Outlook Express, and on the Tools menu, click Accounts. If the Internet Connection Wizard starts up automatically, skip ahead to step 4. On the 'Your Name' page of the wizard, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets e-mail from you, and then click Next.

You can protect access to Outlook Express by restricting access to its executable file, msimn.exe, which is usually located in the C:\Program Files\Outlook Express folder. You can also protect individual folders used by Outlook Express by restricting access to the appropriate message files, located in the Store Folder of Outlook Express.

Any technical information can be obtained from Apple or from Mac-dedicated Web sites. Do a Google search (at google.com) using some keywords such as "apple Mac [model name] technical information manual.." and so on. Apple's Web site has ALL their manuals online in PDF format. They have in their technical archives a summary for EVERY Apple product. Also there are many Mac Web sites with information online, for free.

If you have your files on an old Mac with a SCSI drive internal or external; and your new Mac does not have a SCSI external connector or use SCSI drives internally, what can you do? I'll discuss many options. My GENERAL advice is as follows. EITHER use some kind of Mac which HAS SCSI to read your drive, and use it to transfer files either by connection or by transfer to another media (floppy, CD, ZIP disk). OR, you add some kind of SCSI hardware to your new Mac to read the drive.

These recommended email applications are IMAP email clients and, other than Outlook 2003, come installed as part of the operating system, are robust and stable and are updated automatically. Automatic updates and security fixes are applied directly through software update for Apple Mail, Microsoft Windows update or WAUS (if configured) for Outlook Express and Microsoft Office update or WAUS (if configured) for Outlook 2003. There is no need to run a separate installer to obtain new versions.

Currently both Outlook and Outlook Express have a support category of -1 meaning Information Services believes there are problems associated with running this software in our environment so use of it is actively discouraged. There are vast differences between Outlook and Outlook Express in terms of functionality. Outlook express will not connect to the Exchange server correctly and lacks many of the functions that Outlook possesses. Outlook Express is Microsoft's free "bundle" application that comes on most windows machines. Outlook Express does not support the new campus calendaring system.

Outlook Wizard will take over. Be careful about few details: For Mail Server Type choose POP3. For Incoming Mail type pop3.yourdomain.com For Outgoing Mail type smtp.yourprovider.com Yourprovider.com determines ISP of your Internet access. POP Account Name: username@yourdomain.com *username is a user name chosen at the time of registration. If you configure your Outlook Express in this way, you will be able to receive and send e-mail messages with your own domain address.

All threads from the old version of the message board were transferred to their appropriate place on the new message board. Most notably, all threads from the Psoriasis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Complementary and Alternative Medicine forums were combined into a new Living with Psoriasis and Psoriatic arthritis forum. Those threads still exist and can be found by using the search function on the message board.

Your K7 mailbox can hold up to 20 messages at one time. (This includes both voice and fax). That's the total of both new messages and any old messages you have saved. All messages are deleted after 7 days. This is one of the advantages of receiving your messages by email. The only limits are those set by your email provider.

Right-Click the image in Explorer, Send To, Mail Receipent. Windows should automatically prompt you to make pictures smaller.
