Auburn University LibrariesThe aggregate limit, the total number of items that may be checked out to an ALLIES patron, is 100 items. For example, an Auburn University patron could have 50 items checked out from University of Alabama and 50 items checked out from University of Alabama at Birmingham. This limit does not include items checked out from the patron's home library.

Items checked out from Auburn University by AUM undergraduate students are allowed three on-line renewals. The loan period for faculty, staff, and graduate students at AUM is 90-days for regular checkouts with three on-line 90-day renewals.

However, patrons who have outstanding overdue items can have their borrowing privileges suspended until the items are returned or paid for. Materials ordered are checked in against a Purchase Order by entering into the RECEIVING section an operator can select the desired Purchase Order and then select RECEIVE. Once in the Receive screen the operator selects the material that was received and again clicks on RECEIVE. Normally, as soon as the last of an item is ordered, it is marked out of stock on the site and in the shopping cart. Sometimes, however, we will have two items left, and four people will each order one in the middle of the night. In the morning, we will mark the item out of stock, but in the meantime, two clients will be disappointed.
