The Map Room has a great variety of maps. The largest concentrations are geologic and topographic in nature. Other varieties include bathymetric, forest, ground water, hydrologic, metallogenetic, oil and gas, road, shaded relief, slope, soil, trail, and vegetation. The Map Room also has aeronautical charts. Finally, we have a few satellite images and aerial photographs. The Map Room does NOT have nautical charts nor road maps of cities outside of Colorado. Yes.

Other publications, in particular journals and bulletins of geological surveys, may contain maps. These items are be housed throughout the Library.

Open "CT Atlas". A menu will appear on the left side of the window with a list of all of the predefined CT maps. Click "Begin Printing" at the bottom of the list. See page 6 of "The Colorado Trail Users Guide" included in the CD box for further information on the CTAtlas.

For online maps, there's a good map of the Inca Trail at Infoperu, as well as my own map of the Inca Trail on this site. The lifts marked on the piste map using straight black lines are of four types; button tow/drag, chair, telecabine and telepherique. They have the corresponding abbreviations; TK for teleski (drag), TS for telesiege (chair), TC for telecabine (gondola) and TPH for telepherique (cable car). For telecabine think bubble car and for telepherique think cable car. Anything prefixed/suffixed with "Express" means a 6 person modern fast chair lift.

If you purchase a Map Pack of 5, five map credits are added to your myGolfwits account and remain there until you use them up.

Various maps are available to the public some are available at no charge and others have a cost associated with them. The maps available range in size from 8½ x 11 to 36 x 50. These maps can be countywide or by township and may depict zoning, ownership, roads, and administrative features. The free maps can be downloaded as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file from Sherburne County Maps. Custom maps can be produced from any of the datasets that Sherburne County maintains.

In the past, the most common type of map was a contour map, with the contour lines representing selected water depths located across the map. As computer use of these data evolved, the "line" data become less important. Areas" of selected depth ranges were needed to assess the structure of a body of water, particularly when using a GIS. These types of maps are often displayed as color-coded maps. A very detailed map could be created with small depth range intervals.

The DNR Map Library provides online access to maps created and distributed by DNR. Maps are available for download in PDF format at no charge. Each map in the library also indicates where a paper version may be purchased and the cost.

The input formats are .pdf and raster image file types that Microsoft Windows® Presentation Foundation supports (.gif, .jpg, .png, and such). MapAdvisor can display black/white aerial, color aerial, color topo maps. You can prepare 8-level zoom maps of all 3 types or 2-level zoom old style single file map for one of this type. If you open single file old style map, you have only 1 type of map, i.e. b/w aerial. However if you prepare 8-level zoom maps of different types, MapAdvisor allow you to easy switch between different type of maps by using left drop box on the MapAdvisor toolbar. The Brentwood Map Room is a parcel-based City-wide GIS application tool on the City website. This interactive map presents many layers of geographic mapping information related to the City of Brentwood.

Sometimes people who own Meridians travel to different continents. It may happen that a person has a North American Meridian, but uses the MapSend European Streets program during a vacation. Conversely, a person with a European base map may travel to America and use the American version of Streets. Unfortunately, problems have been reported in these cases. When the map is zoomed out, you don't see any detail because the base map doesn't contain it.

When using downloaded maps, there is a restriction of four regions joined together in one file. This means that you can have at most four rectangular regions of detailed coverage. Mapsend can normally load only 1 map. Here is a technique to get around this limitation: First, create and download a map to your SD card in the card reader/writer as usual. This map will normally be named "detail 00.img".

Maps which have passed the approval process will be hosted on the Mimesis server and will be immediately appear in the list of available content. The approval process ensures quality individuality amongst all content available via the Mimesis application.

Google Maps uses a different projection than Spot for BlackBerry®. So the map may appear a bit squeezed. It will also be inaccurate if you zoom out too far. For normal street level use it should be accurate enough.

The maps accepted by OziExplorer are raster ones being scanned images of paper maps. Automatic recognition of such images necessary to transform the data to vector presentation is rather complex task (like OCR and even more). Some so-called vectorizer tools are available in market, but most of them have very high prices while still require large amount of manual labour.
