If your artwork files are under 8Mb they can be safely sent by email. Should they be larger, then these can be quickly & easily uploaded to our FTP site.

We are able to receive files of 10MB or smaller via e-mail. (Please be sure to compress your files to help in reducing file size.) We do have an FTP site for customers to upload larger files. For more information and access to our FTP site please contact us.

For resource and security reasons, SLED does not support FTP (file transfer protocol). If you have an Internet email account on another system, you may be able to use FTP through that system, or you may using ZMODEM or KERMIT or email files to your personal email account by using the PRINT command which gives you that choice. The size of email attachments is generally regulated by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Most popular ISP's have a 10MB limit for their email clients. Please check with your ISP concerning email attachments.

Yes and no. Yes, in that it is quick and the chances of someone reading your files are vey slim. But email does have its holes and you need to be aware of that when transmitting any correspondence. We are always willing to FTP files for clients who require high level security. In the near future, clients will be able to log in to their account on our website and download files directly from our server if they are not comfortable receiving them via email.

Email has many major limitations when it comes to file transferring. If you have ever tried to send a file larger than a few MB's you know what we mean. More often than not, the email will be sent back as undeliverable because it exceeded file size restrictions. No Progress Notification - there is no progress bar during the transfer so you never know how far along the transfer is.
