Technically, no, but there's a practical limit. As the number of markers increase, so does the time required for the web browser to process them. The time becomes an issue when the number of markers exceed a few hundred. As long as the number of makers remain below 100 or so, it shouldn't be a major factor.

Google Maps" is a feature of the Google website that allows the creation of a customized map with pins at important locations.

The accuracy of the map marker typically depends on how much care the creator of the site took when entering the site. Often the GeoSite covers a broad area, and so the marker will be more general or show only a trail head location.

Good question. It seems that printing maps created using the Google Maps API is unreliable at best. Every browser seems to behave a little bit differently, so any "tricks" I include to make it work in, say, Firefox, might cause everything to blow up in Internet Explorer. Mac OS X: The keystroke Command-Shift-3 will save a picture of your entire screen to your Desktop. You can open that picture in a graphics program or just print it as-is using a program like Preview.

MyTown members can indeed create and share their own maps. You want your friends to know exactly where you caught the lunker fish? Make a map. Want to create a map to your fund-raiser? You can do it here. Want to share a map of your favorite hike? You can do that here, too. To create a map, log in, click on the “My account� tab in the upper righthand corner, then on “My maps.� Mark the route you want and save the map. Now you can link it to your news item.

The Google map is designed to show you exactly where each camera is located on our highway system, and let you quickly select another camera of interest. Clicking a green marker on the map jumps to another camera. You may zoom in our out on the Google map by clicking the plus or minus buttons, or drag the map in any direction with your mouse to change the view. You may view satellite imagery or a hybrid map/satellite image overlay.

You can add Google Maps to your website using the Google Maps API. For more information see the Google Maps Help page.

First, you will want to find the map using Google's Satellite interface. Search for the location in the location bar, and move the map around until you find a good shot. You will now see that the URL is updated in the Location bar in your browser. Before it would just say http://maps.google.com, and now it should contain the extra location information: Finally, go to the submissions interface. You will need at least the following information about the map:

You may already be familiar with some of the lipid markers such as LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, which are increased by a diet high in saturated fats or carbohydrates and often lead to heart disease. And HDL cholesterol, commonly called the "good cholesterol," which is bolstered by exercise and fish oils, and actually protects your cardiovascular system.

Use as many markers as your participants can afford. Generally, we recommend starting with at least 25 markers as a trade-off between cost and information. (If cost is a major issue, screening tests can be done with 12 marker tests.)

If you are looking up multiple locations, those markers will help you keep track of what you have looked up. You can use this feature to outline a campus tour or to pinpoint where your classes are located.

The markers on the map change color according to the risk level for that location. Markers can be green (low risk), yellow (medium risk), orange (high risk), purple (equivalent to pink; late blight seen within 2-5 miles) or red (late blight seen within 1 mile). Just click here: http://maps.google.com/ and then enter the street address you'd like to map to, then click "Search Maps". Once the map comes on screen, look to the right-top corner of the map. Click where it says "Link to this page". Look for "paste html to embed in website". Click in that box. The entire area will be selected. Right click with your mouse and select "copy". This will copy it to clipboard (memory). Now, return to SiteSkins, click to edit the page you wish to edit.

Click on the "Profile" link at the top of the webpage to edit your profile. In the "Edit your profile" page, you will see 3 fields related to the Google Map under the "Profile Information" section: Fill in these fields with relevant information. When complete, click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page to save the new settings, and your location will appear in the Google Map.

Well, we can't, for two reasons, but you might be able to. Google Earth requires both broadband Internet and a PC. We use Macs and we don't have anywhere near broadband capability. Frappr works best for us. But if you want to see where we are, you can get the zip code from our Frappr map or www.usps.com, and then use Google Earth to explore the area.

We believe in diversity. To be able to play many maps, we have to keep the time limit per map short. The players can however vote to extend the time limit prior to a map change.

The trial version of StreamLogger™ only allows creation of 2 markers per log file. The fully licensed version of StreamLogger allows virtually unlimited marker creation.

The address listed for the coffee place in our directory might be wrong. You will need the correct address to get the map from Google.

Search by Keyword - search for "Texas", "Arrowsmith", "Geographical", etc. The search is case insensitive. View a much larger page that shows "all maps" or some other large category. As these pages are slow, the previous searches are preferable.

This is a known MapStudio limitation; markers do not appear in the shapefile output format. You can add markers to your map file in ArcGIS software.

Sometimes only the route number is painted (this is common in England). U.S. standards for these markers are found in the "Pavement Markings" section of Standard Highway Signs (see Section 10 intro ). See Question 12.10 for information on general pavement markings.

For now the best way is to put an <iframe></iframe> tag pair inside your info window <div></div> tags, and refer to another page where you can provide a second EZ Google Map. I know this is a bit clumsy, so full support of the Google Maps "blowup" maps is on my to-do list.

Google Maps uses a different projection than Spot for BlackBerry®. So the map may appear a bit squeezed. It will also be inaccurate if you zoom out too far. For normal street level use it should be accurate enough.

When GPS Visualizer creates a Google Map, it uses a "Google Maps API key" that is unique to gpsvisualizer.com; files created with that key can only be viewed while they are on this site. However, getting an API key is free, so if you want to put a saved map on your own site, you can sign up for your own key and replace my key with yours in the HTML source.

Try Google Maps -- if that doesn't work, you may be using an incompatible browser or have JavaScript turned off. If Google Maps don't work, your own EZ map certainly won't.
