If your work comp physician does not allow you to return to work even at modified duty, after the first seven days missed, the work comp insurance company will make payments directly to you for lost wages based on the current state statutes. This amount is typically approx. 66 2/3% of your average weekly wage. Since the first seven days of missed time are not initially paid by the insurance company, employees may use their sick or vacation time during this period.
