Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Keyboard controller be powered from a DC din connector?

Synthesizers.com --- FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
QKB15S Keyboard Controllers are powered by +12 VDC usually from a wall transformer. The Q101, Q103, and Q137 Power modules provide DC power via a 6 pin female connector. The voltages available are +15VDC, -15VDC, and +5VDC - all well regulated. The keyboard controller has it's own internal regulator and only needs about 9VDC - 18VDC at less than 50ma. So you can provide power to the keyboard by a short cable from one of the modules. When you turn your system off, the keyboard will also go off.

How can I move the Active Directory (AD) Global Catalog (GC) to another domain controller (DC)?

English Windows FAQs 2003
You don't actually move the GC between servers. Instead, you simply enable the GC on a new server, then disable the current GC. I explain how to configure a new server as a GC in the FAQ "How do I configure a server as a Global Catalog?" ( http://www.windows2000faq.com/articles/index.cfm?articleid=13375 ). Keep in mind that if you already have one GC in the domain, you won't want to disable that GC until after your new one has received all the existing GC content.

What's the Windows Server 2003 domain controller (DC) install-from-media function?

English Windows FAQs 2003
When you add a new DC to an existing domain, the new DC typically receives all Active Directory (AD) content from an existing DC on the network. This process can take some time, especially over slow network connections or on very large domains. With Windows 2003, you can optionally install a new DC to an existing domain by using a system-state backup of an existing DC from the same domain. (You can't use this method to create new domains, however.

How can I connect the SVD to the Apple UniDisk controller (db-19 connector)?

Semi-Virtual Diskette (SVD) - Frequently Asked Questions (FA...
I seriously considered putting the UniDisk db-19 connector on the SVD - or more accurately, the dongle. However, I simply could not find an economical supply of them. It appears that the db-19 is a connector of the past. The 20-pin headers are far easier to come by, and quite a bit cheaper...and you all know my mantra relative to the SVD "the cheaper the better." However, it is a theoretically simple matter to connect the SVD to the UniDisk controller.

Should I get a powered bottom?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR L&L CERAMIC KILNS
Powered bottoms are available as options on some Jupiter and DaVinci kilns. They are not available on the Easy-Fire kilns. We recommend this option for a few different reasons. On very large kilns such as the T3400 Series, where you could get a cold spot in the floor, a powered bottom will improve uniformity. To decrease cycle time and add KW to the kiln - not normally an issue with ceramics but it can be for some industrial processes.
