CD players have built-in digital-to-analog converters (DACs) so they can deliver a regular analog audio signal to the input of your receiver. Video Vault was designed to create DVD backups that can play on any ordinary DVD player, however, some players can be somewhat picky in regards to the disc media used to burn backup copies. There are two reasons. First, a 720p output signal contains much more data than a 480p signal, resulting in a greater potential for signal degradation and loss. No, it is not, as the signal coming from the DVD player is not high-definition. It is 576 horizontal lines. High-definition is at least 720 horizontal lines.

If your TV set is HDCP enabled, you can connect your HDMI device to your DVI TV set by using a HDMI to DVI adapter. It is a small device that you can find in any Hi-fi or TV store. However, remember that sound will not be transported. You will need to use the audio output of your device and the audio input of your TV set. You can connect them together if you use a DVI to HDMI adapter. Please contact your Hi-fi or TV store for more information.

If your DVD player's remote control does not have these buttons, refer to the User's Manual for two alternate methods of setting up your InteracTV controller. DVD remote controls can vary. On some remotes, both the PLAY and PAUSE functions are dedicated to one button. If your DVD player's remote uses the same button for both PLAY and PAUSE, simply press this same button at both prompts during the SET-UP procedure.

Since this unit uses a cross-coupled output, it is imperative that pin 3 be grounded to pin 1 and the audio positive connected to pin 2. It is also very important to make sure the unit is earth grounded using a separate wire connected to the chassis ground screw near the red power connector.
