Are you sure that you have the right version of Java installed? Please check the release notes for the version of OpenOffice.org you have installed. When you have verified that you do have the right version of Java on your system, and it is still not recognized, you can manually insert the path in the relevant Java dialog during OOo installation. First of all a JRE from Sun (version 1.4), must be installed. The installation program normally registers the file type .jar to execute javaw. A. When attaching a modem to the serial (RS232) port, verify that the port assigned to your modem matches the COM port assigned to the Serial Port on the Port Replicator. To check this: Go to Device Manager and check the COM port that is assigned to Serial on USB (COMx) under the heading Ports(COM&LPT), where "x" is the COM port assignment. Device Manager can be reached by right-clicking on My Computer and choosing Properties.
