Do I need to bring my camera to the class?

Photography and Travel Taking Your Camera on the Road - FAQ ...
Unless you have specific questions about how your camera works, don’t bring it to the class. Brent and Lorelle have extensive experience working with a variety of cameras (even point-and-shoots) and are very willing to answer any questions you may have. They strongly recommend you read your camera manual before coming to the class. If the class includes a field trip, you will need to bring your camera then.

What camera should I bring for my Photography class?

FAQ - accepted
You should bring any 35mm SLR camera that has a manual function and interchangeable lenses. “Manual” means that the shutter and aperture can be manipulated independently of each other. It would be handy if you can independently change the ISO/ASA overriding DX encoding. You only need a 50mm or small zoom lens to complete the course. You may use auto-focus cameras as long as they have a manual exposure system. There are many cameras that fit this description.

I have brought a camera with me into both Whirlpool and Maple Run caves, and numerous others. I store it in a soft camera bag, then wrap it with a spare T-shirt or towel inside my backpack. These caves are dirty, dusty, and humid. These are not optimum conditions for an expensive camera. Note that you won't be wearing your backpack/pack very much because you will be going through squeezes, lying on your stomach, etc.
