Yes. In cathedral ceiling applications, our foam system does not promote deterioration of the existing roof sheathing because it does not allow condensation at the foam/deck interface. Some traditional insulation systems have high water absorption and hold moisture against the underside of the sheathing. Our foam system can be applied without roof ventilation because it is fully adhered and air impermeable. Moisture does not condense between the insulation and the sheathing.

CATHEDRAL CEILING provides for a slight, about 12 inch rise in the ceiling center. Caution must be taken not to exceed the room span of about 14 feet or the center beam will protrude into the room and defeat the purpose of the ceiling. This type of ceiling is available on a 5/12 and 7/12 roof pitch only and is relatively inexpensive. The truss employed is a scissors truss and the interior ceiling is mostly factory finished.

We recommend a light-colored, thermoplastic membrane for almost all flat or low-sloped roofs, whether a small porch roof or a large commercial building. "Thermoplastic" means that the membrane is heat-welded together at the seams, providing an almost monolithic roof covering, assuming the those welds are held to high quality-control standards. Cathedral ceilings should have continuous soffit vents and a ridge vent to allow air circulation between the insulation and the underside of the roof. Insulation should be installed with at least 1 inch of clearance from the underside of the roof. There are plastic baffles available that can be used to maintain this air space. A continuous vapor retarder is also recommended to minimize migration of water vapor into the insulation.

Replacement glass is available, and it can be easily installed in most models. On VS skylights manufactured after April of 1996, the entire operating sash must be replaced. If glass replacement is needed for the FCM, the entire FCM skylight can quickly and easily be replaced.

One serious form of decay among young children is "Baby Bottle Tooth Decay". This condition is caused by frequent and long exposures of an infant's teeth to liquids that contain sugar.
