Yes. The CD is entitled Inventions from the Blue Line, it's by Mike Post and is published by American Gramaphone, 9130 Mormon Bridge Road, Omaha, NE 68152. The catalog number is AGCD 450 for the CD, and AGC 450 for the cassette. It contains the NYPD Blue theme, 5 other NYPD Blue tracks and 4 other Mike Post themes -- Law & Order, Silk Stalkings, Renegade and Cop Files. In the US it should be available at any large record store.

There are a few places you should check. First off try looking it up in the Soundtracks Database (http://www.digiweb.c om/~ellenbe/srch-example.cgi) accessible via our home page. Screen music is a specialised area of music and competitive. If you submit it to us (see FAQ on Demos) and we feel it has potential, we will get back to you. Be aware, though, that music filmmakers prefer to have their music created specifically for their film or television production. There may be some potential for your music to be made available for licensing but, again, it is a very competitive area.

Yes, although your movie won't come out ahead based on creativity and originality. The soundtrack is a great way to make your entry stand out. Consider using Apple's Garageband program at the Multimedia Project Studio to make an original musical statement. You might also consider working with one of Duke's many fine independent bands.

To date there hasn't been a Night Watch soundtrack produced, not even in Russia. The closest thing to it was a compilation of music "inspired by" Night Watch. Other than the one track from the closing credits (Russian version) the songs on this disc are not featured in the film.

Nope. It's never been released, in spite of the fact that the movie includes the note "Soundtrack available on Columbia records and tapes" near the end of the credits. There have been a couple RoIOs of the soundtrack, (some very professional looking) but your best bet would be to buy the Hi-Fi videotape of the film (or get the new LaserDisc, and you'll have a digital copy of the soundtrack!) Interestingly, the written lyrics in some early Wall LPs have this change as well.

Yes, indeed there is. However, the soundtrack is considerably hard to find, since it has been out of print for some years now. It consists of the score composed by Angelo Badalamenti, extracts of dialogue and the several songs featured in the film (Blue Velvet, Mysteries of Love, In Dreams). The soundtrack can be found on Amazon. It currently has a 4.3/5 rating on All Music Guide.

Although out of print, John Carpenter's musical score to Big Trouble in Little China IS available! There are currently two version out there: the original Demon Records 1987 CD, and the newer 1999 Supertracks release with added music and bonus tracks. The original CD is hard to find, but sometimes someone is selling a copy on Ebay. The newer CD can be found on Ebay and occasionally on Amazon.com.

If you want to add a middle segment of a song to your photo story you can use Microsoft Windows Movie Maker 2 to create a music file that contains only that particular segment of music. Then you can add the music file created in Windows Movie Maker to your photo story. Actually, there are two! "Songs from Ally McBeal" and "Heart and Soul New Songs From Ally McBeal Featuring Vonda Shepard." You can see track listings, finds links to the lyrics and purchase the albums on my "Show Soundtracks" page. Many years ago, Vonda toured with a Los-Angeles band named Venice and "The Only Love I Had" is one of their songs. You can find the lyrics to the song at their web site. Vonda has not recorded this song.

The sad reality is that virtually no film music is available like this. You can get piano reductions from places like www.halleonard.com (particularly of popular John Williams themes) but not the complete scores and not the actual film orchestrations.
