Rossum's Playhouse (RP1) is a mobile-robot simulation intended to aid developers implementing robot control and navigation logic. It allows applications to build a data configurable robot which can interact with a two-dimensional (2D) landscape. RP1 is free software. The source code and binaries are available on The Rossum Project web site. The simulation is in its infancy. Much work remains to be done, but the design is well suited to a collaborative effort.

Rossum's Playhouse is named in honor of Karel Capek's classic science fiction work Rossum's Universal Robots. In 1921, Capek's play introduced the term "Robot" (from the Czech word for "worker"). I also call Rossum's Playhouse "RP1" for short... an acronym which is useful since the full name is, well, a little too playful to be used in some circles. What I'd like to see most is some smart client implementations. I think that offers an opportunity for somebody to garner major coolness points. At this point, these would best be written in Java. There are plenty of things that can be done in software. We can talk about these. The GUI is pretty bare-bones and could stand to be dressed up a little.

Ideally your playhouse should have a clear space at least 18" wide on all sides, if possible. This ensures easy access for both installation and future maintenance. In reality this is often not practical and at many sites it is not needed. A reduced clearance is often possible on one or two sides. If the space around your playhouse is restricted remember to allow for any roof overhang. You should also cut back or remove any nearby shrubs and trees. Remember to allow for future growth.

All Summer playhouses can be easily insulated. Inexpensive polystyrene or fibreglass insulation can be easily fitted between the framing members. The insulation is retained by cross battens which also support the lining boards. Wood effect veneered wallboard is a popular lining but plywood and tongued and grooved cladding are also suitable.

The Bowie Playhouse is a 150-seat indoor theater. It is owned by the City of Bowie and has been open since 1975. The facility is open year-round and offers plenty of free parking. The Bowie Playhouse fees are affordable and the facility operates for the benefit of community theater and other performing arts groups.

Each playhouse differs in height. Depending on which playhouse you are interested in you can go to the specific page and the height will be listed there. (typically, the small playhouse 4x6 is roughly 6’ high. The 6x8, 8x8, and 8x12 are roughly 8’ high. The 10x12 cape cod and Victorian are roughly 9’ high).

The space will always be used, so buy the biggest playhouse you can afford provided that it fits comfortably in the space available. There are no precise guidelines regarding the size. Often the size of the playhouse is dictated by the space available. We offer a wide range of sizes to suit every space.

All playhouses need a substantial base. The base should be solid, square, flat and level to ensure the stability of your playhouse. Paving slabs or concrete are ideal. A solid concrete base is more permanent and normally more expensive but it provides an excellent base especially for a larger playhouse. Paving slabs are more practical and cost effective, especially for a smaller base at the far end of the garden.

If your order includes installation the playhouse will be delivered and installed on the same day by prior appointment with you. A clear access route is required from the lorry to the prepared base, with no access restrictions. The sections are often large flat panels which may be as long as the playhouse. Possible restrictions include archways, narrow passages, sharp corners and flights of steps. It is not normally possible to lift large panels over fences and walls.

Most Summer playhouses are suitable for DIY assembly. Assembly is a straightforward and satisfying project for any DIY enthusiast using only basic tools, such as a hammer, a screwdriver, a power drill, a spirit level, an adjustable spanner, a knife, a stepladder and safety goggles. You should not attempt to lift heavy sections without a helping pair of hands. Remember that extra time spent preparing a good base is normally repaid with time saved later on during the installation.

All Summer children's playhouses and other timber buildings require regular treatment. The external timber should be treated with a good quality wood stain every year. This will prolong the life of your playhouse. All major wood stain manufacturers offer suitable products in a choice of colours, available from good hardware shops. We also recommend that you regularly oil the door and window hinges as required to ensure continued smooth operation.

Our playhouses feature perspex safety glazing to all windows. Doors feature piano style continuous safety hinges, angled to leave a gap when shut to prevent fingers getting trapped. All stable type doors feature a gap between the doors to prevent fingers getting trapped. Other safety features include carefully constructed balustrades and hand rails.

Each year, the City works with two resident production groups to establish the schedule of performances. Bowie Community Theater (BCT) presents 3 or 4 plays each year. 2nd Star Productions' primary focus is musical theater and they present 3 or 4 productions each year. These productions are advertised in local papers and in the "This Month in Bowie" feature of this website or on Cable Channel 71B. Additional productions are presented by various schools of dance and local bands.

Any of the above structures are required to be set back five (5) feet from any property line or perimeter party wall. Maximum height on a Gazebo and/or Ramada is ten (10) feet with a peak roof and eight (8) feet with a flat roof. A Playhouse/Play Structure can be no more than ten (10) feet high and platforms or flat standing surfaces can be no higher than four (4) feet above the natural grade of the lot.

No, plays aren't held in the Desilu Playhouse. It is named after the studio in Hollywood where the "I Love Lucy" show was filmed. The Desilu Playhouse is home to the sets from the "I Love Lucy" 50th Anniversary Tour that traveled the country in 2001-2002. The sets include the kitchen and living room of the Ricardos' New York City apartment, as well as the suite of The Beverly Palms Hotel in Hollywood.

I would suggest not sitting towards the front. The stage is up off the ground and little ones will have a hard time seeing, especially stuff at the back of the stage. In the center section on an aisle would be a good area. Also, it's not necessary to be first in line. The people in the front of the line are sent over to the far right section in the front.
