If you want to be considered for financial assistance, the earlier the better. March 1st is the official cut off date.

Initially, we advise an international applicant to attach photocopies of his/her score reports with the application, but official reports issued by ETS will be required before full processing of that application will take place. In some instances, the Graduate School will accept certified copies of these reports.

For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. All applicants must submit a GRE score to be considered for fellowships or graduate teaching assistantships.

The department will notify you if they have not received them. If you have received official notification from UCSD, contact the department. The GRE is required of doctoral students who are seeking funding through the graduate economics program. The GRE is not required (though it is highly recommended) for all other students applying at the doctoral and masters level. We do not accept GMAT scores in lieu of the GRE.

The last acceptable deadline to take the GRE or TOEFL is in December. It is strongly recommended that you take the test prior to the application deadline. The January test dates are typically too late.

If you're taking the TOEFL CBT the minimum score is 250. If it is available in your country and you are taking the TOEFL IBT, then the minimum score is a total of 80 points, with a minimum of 23 on the Speaking section. Individual departments may require higher scores. The IBT minimums are subject to change as we gain more experience on what these scores actually mean in terms of proficiency.

Yes, both GMAT and TOEFL socres are required documents for admission. Your scores must be sent directly to IUJ from the test venders. You may submit an IELTS score instead of a TOEFL score.

Yes, you can submit copies of your GMAT and/or TOEFL scores in the interim, until we receive the official scores from the testing centers.

If you hold a PhD in a related discipline and are able to submit a photocopy of the GMAT/GRE that was part of your original PhD application, you may then request a waiver of the GMAT/GRE test requirement. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Admissions Committee.

The TOEFL is a mandatory university requirement and will not be waived unless the student has graduated from a US university or any other University where English is the official language of the country. TOEFL could be substituted with one of the following: pass the IELTS test (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0 (www.ceii.

Students applying for admission in US Universities are from a large number of institutions not only from USA but also from countries all over the world. It is impossible for the admission authorities in US Universities to have reliable and up-to-date information on the relative merits of the certificates/degrees/marks/grades awarded by these diverse universities.

We do not set any absolute cut-off point for these tests. However, you might want to note that the median for our most recent intake was 695 for GMAT, 1343 for GRE (verbal & quantitative), 620 for TOEFL and 7.0 for IELTS.

GRE scores can be no more than five years old at the time of submission. TOEFL scores can be no more than two years old at the time of submission. If your scores do not meet this required timeline, you must retest and submit current scores. To ensure that all three of your letters of recommendation arrive in a timely manner and are added to your file, it is best to contact your recommenders early. Keep in mind that faculty may be busy or unavailable as it gets closer to the holiday break.

If you are applying to any of the dual degree programmes, MIT requires that GRE scores be sent directly to the host department by ETS. For the non-dual degree programmes, you may submit the scores together your application materials to the SMA Office. The GRE should be taken early enough for the score to be sent to MIT by the application deadline.

Unfortunately, GRE scores expire after five years and TOEFL scores expire after two years. It is impossible for us to verify scores for these exams once the scores have expired. Please be certain that your scores will still be valid as of April 15, 2008, otherwise you will be required to retake the exam(s) so that official, valid scores can be reported at that time to the university's Graduate Admissions Office if you accept our offer of admission.

All students whose native language is not English must submit test scores for the TOEFL, including the TWE (Test of Written English). Scores for an equivalent standardized English language test, such as the IELTS, may be submitted instead of the TOEFL. In addition to the TOEFL, GRE scores may need to be submitted by students with university degrees outside of Canada. Please consult our admission requirements.

The GMAT is required for applicants in Accounting. The other departments (Finance, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain and Information Systems) prefer GMAT scores, but the GRE is an acceptable alternative. Scores must be no more than five years old.

The Department does not have a formal GRE/GMAT level requirement. Typically, the Department expects GRE/GMAT scores to be above 1000 (verbal and quantitative combined). However, a portfolio approach is used to assess an applicant's credentials for admission. The GRE/GMAT, GPA, work experience and career statement are considered together.

The GRE and TOEFL scores should be sent directly from ETS to Cornell University, university code 2098. Xeroxed copies of student scores do not constitute official scores. You should plan to take the tests allowing enough time for the official scores to arrive before the Field deadline; generally this process takes 3-4 weeks; however, it is recommended that the tests be taken no later than October due to the large volume of testing that occurs after that time.

Once you ask ETS to send score reports to UCSB, please allow two to three weeks for processing. Once your scores have arrived, Graduate Division will update your application status.

The Graduate Division does not set minimum score requirements for the GRE. For international applicants required to take the TOEFL or IELTS, the minimum TOEFL score is 550 when taking the paper based test, 213 when taking the computer based test, and 80 when taking the internet based test. The minimum IELTS score for consideration is an Overall Band Score of 7 or higher. TOEFL or IELTS scores can be no more than two years old at the time of application.

Bulletins and information are available at the Educational Advising Centers. These booklets provide thorough information on the exams, i.e. where, when, how to register, scoring, fees, etc., and include sample tests as well. The TOEFL, GRE General and GMAT tests are computerized, and can be taken at the Budapest computer-based test center. Questions concerning test registration, payment and test preparation materials should be addressed to the Fulbright Educational Advising Center.

The letters are acronyms for each exam. Each exam has a different purpose, and whether you need to take one or more depends on your goals. You should check the requirements for your specific case.

The number of prerequisite courses is determined by the department depending on the deficiency in the student background. In some cases no prerequisite courses are specified with the provision that the student gets a B average in the first two graduate courses or the first semester. Yes. There is flexibility in graduate admission.

Applicants to the two-year programs must take the GRE or GMAT no later than December. Applicants to the Mid-Career MPA program must take the GRE or GMAT no later than April. Applicants that are required to take the TOEFL examination must register for the exam three months in advance of the application deadline.

Our school code for the GRE and TOEFL exams is 3454. The school code for GMAT is HRL-27-69. This code only applies to GMAT scores sent to the Kennedy School.

If you retake the GMAT or TOEFL, the higher of the two scores will be considered (scores are not averaged).
