Wireless access is not currently available in the Fischer Agricultural Sciences Library, though it is expected in the near future. Holland and Terrell Libraries have eleven outlets for Internet access.

Yes. Anyone with a laptop/PDA can connect to the Internet using the library's wireless connection if it is equipped with a wireless card. You can also connect to the Internet using a wired campus network port. There are about 10 wired ports throughout the library.<

You will not have internet access while you are out in the field. On your day off, if you are in a town with public internet access, you may be able to use the internet. However, this is not a guarantee. Before and after the session, while you are in Eugene, you'll be able to access the internet at the Eugene Public Library or at the University of Oregon Library. We do not recommend that you bring your laptop computer out into the field.

Recently we have been working with some libraries to help their low vision patrons get access to library services using PnC Net. Today most libraries have great web sites that provide access to tons of information about almost anything. Lots of information is available without a library card, but usually you need a library card to access the card catalog, reserve and check out books. Often you can get the information you need without going to the library.

You can bring your laptop computer, you will have to contact one of local ISP's who will provide you with temporary Internet access for your limited stay. If you are staying in a hotel, make sure your modem will bypass their PBX phone system. If they have a data port on their phones you should have no problem, set your modem to dial whatever number you normally dial for an outside line, then your ISP's access number. There are quite a few Cyber Cafes in PV.

Students are "unplugged" during their Crow Canyon experience; computers are not available for student use. The four computers in the lobby of the Gates Archaeology Laboratory are for adult use only. We ask that users limit their time on the computer to 15 minutes. The Cortez Public Library also has computers with Internet access.

Unfortunately, the library does not have laptop computers for loan. You may access the Internet from computer stations located in other sections of the library. No, the wireless network does not pose any health risk. It uses radio signals within the spectrum of safety. While there will always be controversy over the safety of exposure to radio signals, it is something we are exposed to whether we have a wireless network or not.

FUBiS students have free access to the PC terminals in the university computer lab, including printing facilities and free-of-charge Internet access. At the orientation meeting in Berlin, every student will get a personal user account by the ZEDAT (FU computer cenre). The computer lab is assisted by FU staff members. For wired Internet access students can plug into a network outlet located in the main computer lab or the reference area of the library. Internet access should be automatically detected, however, if you experience problems please seek help from staff in the Office of Computer Services. Queens Library’s policy restricts access to some web site content, as a wireless network user you will be restricted from chat, games, and instant messaging. If you are over 17 years of age, you may request broader access by using one of the library’s public use computer workstations. Our in-suite offices all have Internet cable modems wireless or with Ethernet cords to plug your laptop in.

We can provide you with a modem and load a browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, onto the laptop, but we do not offer internet access. You must contract with an ISP (Internet Service Provider) for that.

If you bought your laptop recently, there's a pretty good chance it has built-in wireless capability. If this is the case, turn your computer's wireless receiver on. This is done slightly differently depending on the brand of your laptop and whether it's a PC or a Mac. Your computer's manual should have some basic instructions on how to do this. Once your notebook's wireless receiver is on, it should be able to tell you whether there's an accessible wireless network nearby.

There are active network jacks throughout the library where you can connect your laptop. Active jacks are marked with a red dot or red triangle. You must have your own CAT5 network cable and network card for your laptop.

You may connect to the Internet in two ways: you must first install the necessary drivers; borrow the installation CD at the Reserve Desk and follow the directions. Once the software is installed, you may borrow a wireless card anytime you are in the library. the library’s wireless network is restricted to registered Suffolk University students, faculty and staff.

Yes, the Library is WiFi equipped throughout the building (but there may be some spots less “hot” than others). You should be aware, however, that your laptop is vulnerable unless you have adequate and up-to-date antivirus software on it. The Library cannot assume responsibility for any damage to your equipment.

Yes, you can. Students will need to use their Oasis username and password to connect to the Curtin network and staff should use their Novell login. If your laptop has a compatible on-board wireless card, you can configure it to access the network. More information can be gained from the Wireless Network webpage. Room 6105 on Level 6 has been set up for students who want to use the Curtin electronic network on their laptops and take advantage of the available power points.

You are allowed to use your laptop in the library, however no ports are provided for internet connection. The university is currently installing the infrastructure to facilitate wireless connectivity. You will be advised when this becomes available.
