Try changing your screen resolution. We have found through testing that a resoluton of 800x600 (or higher) yeilds the best results. If AREIS looks too small, lower your resolution. You have probably set up this desk to not allow non-button programs to run. To allow all helpfiles, list winhelp.exe (the Windows help program) as an Allowed Application by filename, so WinU allows it to run. To allow just certain helpfiles to run, use the Access tab's lenient setting instead of strict, and list the window titles of the allowed helpfiles instead of the filename of the help program itself.

In another of a long line of Design Decisions I Regret, xv tries to do all sorts of clever things with regard to the image window's position on screen. For example, if you issue the Max Size command, xv will position the window so that the window's contents exactly fill the screen (and the titlebar, frame, etc. are off the edges). Clever when it works, a big pain in the ass when it doesn't.

Use the OSD and choose the AUTO TUNE. This should clear it up. If not, also use the PHASE option in the menu. Adjust until it is clear.

A: You'll notice that the hardbox around things like houses just doesn't do the job. Hardboxes have to be rectangular, and things like houses are too complex for this to work. There are at least three methods to "fill in" the hardness around a house. It's probably best to set its hardness type to 1 (not hard) and totally draw the hardness yourself as explained below. I use a combination of the first two usually.

When you click on the "View Picture" icon your Image Viewer opens and you'll see the picture you attached to the entry. The first time you view a picture associated to an entry the Image Viewer window will probably be much too large, overlay the screen and all your entries. I suggest re-sizing the Image Viewer window so that it fits in the lower left hand corner of the program's screen. This area is blank on your screen. This way you can see both the picture and entry.

This message is caused by your screen size being larger than 640 x 480 resolution. To get rid of this message, you need to change your screen size back down to 640 x 480. If the contents of the LimeWire window are completely white or gray, then there is an incompatibility with your graphics settings and Java's ability to render the LimeWire window. Try setting your graphics settings to factory default and/or reduce your refresh rate. If this does not work, others have had success by either upgrading their graphics drivers, rolling them back to a previous version, or disabling any hardware-driven graphics functions such as anti-aliasing.

The screen size is dictated by the room size. Normally it is the room’s height that forces a reduction in the full screen size of 18feet x 10feet, that’s around 5.5m x 3m if you prefer decimal. We would however use the largest suitable screen size for the room. See the picture below for scale.

xv, developed by John Bradley, is a full-featured program for displaying and manipulating images in the GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PBM, PGM, PPM, X11 bitmap, Utah Raster Toolkit RLE, PDS/VICAR, Sun Rasterfile, BMP, PCX, IRIS RGB, XPM, Targa, XWD, PostScript (if GhostScript is available) and PM formats. It can also convert between most of those formats. xv 3.10a is shareware for personal use with a suggested registration fee of US$25.

Make the screen resolution as high as you can while still being able to read the texts in the site comfortably. In Windows: Right click on your desktop, choose Properties, and Settings tab. Prior to GLUT 3.7, you can generate a full-screen window using a call to glutFullScreen(void). With GLUT 3.7 and later, a more flexible interface was added. With glutGameModeString(), an application can specify a desired full-screen width and height, as well as the pixel depth and refresh rate. Go into the Device Manager and remove all items listed under "Display Adapters". To remove an item in Windows XP and Windows 2000, select the item, click the Action menu, choose Uninstall. To remove an item in Windows 98 and Windows ME, select the item and click Remove. If the installation asks you for the drivers, point the installation to drivers. Use the disk labeled "Electronic Manuals and Driver CD", to obtain the driver (you may have to browse to a specific directory).

Typically, if your screen is off-centered, you can adjust it by using the settings on your monitor. Most monitors have controls that allow you to stretch/shrink the screen and adjust the display. To make your screen show more of the puzzle: Press PF11. This toggles full screen mode. Pressing PF11 again returns the screen to the prior mode. This applies anytime you are using your browser. (This works with Internet Explorer and I believe works in AOL.) In Netscape, full screen mode is obtained by selecting View in the menu at the top, then Show/Hide, then unchecking all options. A second way to show more of the puzzle on the screen is to change your display settings.
