The goal is to stay at each castle for 2 hours. In many cases we stay longer than 2 hours. Many factors go into the amount of time visiting a castle, two important ones are the number of castles seen in a day and distance to the castles. We try to stay in hotels as close as possible to the castles in order to minimize the travel time and maximize visiting time. But, this is not always possible, since many castles are in remote areas.

There were many factors that determined the time it took to build a castle. Some bigger castles took up to 20 years to complete (such as The Tower of London). At an average of 7-12 years, building castles was a very difficult task. Even when finished, many kings and nobles would still improve a castle by strengthening the walls and towers. Timber castles were very effective against spears and arrows. Nevertheless, wooden castles were very weak against fire.

That depends on the health and condition of each animal. Sometimes a bird will have an injury or illness prior to oiling and that will call for an extended stay in captivity. The quickest a bird can be released is usually around 5 days however most average up to 7 days in captivity.
