It's possible that your images are actually in some other format though they have a .jpg extension. The confusion lies in the digital header that is imbedded in the image files which may cause uncompressed bitmaps that cannot be recognized or copied to create thumbnails. This may be the result of a camera setting, or may be a function of your image editing software. Save the image again, in .jpg format, and then upload it again into your image hosting folder.

SimpleViewer can load JPGs and SWFs. Any other file types (.gifs, videos etc) are not supported. SWFs are loaded in the same way as JPGs, just add the SWF filename to gallery.xml. Note that you will need to add a thumbnail SWF with the same name as the large SWF in the 'thumbs' folder (the same as for a JPG).

Each JPG image fills an 8.5" by 11" page at 72 dpi and was saved with as little compression as possible (10), so these images can be printed and scaled down for many uses. Using a signal splitter, a video cable longer than what originally was provided by the manufacturer or a video cable extension will cause this type of problem. Go into the Device Manager and remove all items listed under "Display Adapters". To remove an item in Windows XP and Windows 2000, select the item, click the Action menu, choose Uninstall. First check the log files to ensure that the images do really exist remotely and are not fake html error pages renamed into .jpg ("Not found" errors, for example).
