I would have to say that 90% of the work is done with a chainsaw. I also use electric chisels, hand chisels, dremel tools, die grinders, sanders, and torches! Primarily I use Razors and Glue. You would be amazed at how much you can do with these tools alone. I also use a Wizard which is a rotary tool similar to a Dremel. When it comes to sculpting I use various picks, dental tools, pins, paper-clips all of these things are part of my customizing arsenal... You'll find that all sort of objects make great sculpting tools!

I used to make my pictures -- badly -- with technical pens, crowquills and felt brushes on kid finish 2-ply bristol. The carvings are mostly carved from turnip. They take from half an hour to two hours to carve depending on complexity.

The most often-used tool in my studio for cutting and shaping is tile nippers. Nippers give me a lot more control when trimming the edges of the tesserae. A: You need to own a copy of Dink Smallwood on CD (available from RTSoft at www.rtsoft.com). There is a folder on your DINK CD called "develop". Copy everything from this folder into your main Dink directory. That's it! The map editor is called DINKEDIT.EXE. I'd recommend downloading DinkRun (mine) or CreatedWorlds (Silencer's) as a front-end for running DinkEdit. NEW: I have created a D-Mod Skeleton which is the shell of a D-Mod you can simply UNZIP into a Dink subdirectory of your choice.

Animation: For large animated scenes I use Macromedia Flash. It is a software program similar in spirit to a graphics program (like Photoshop/Corel). The computer dating program was originally written in the C language and run on a Unix Web server. Most Web Pages were created using a text editor, not a Web Page editor. Yes, we do on-site carvings usually within about a 50 mile radius in western Pennsylvania.. If however you are farther away, we will still consider doing the job, but there will be additional costs, like transportation and lodging.

As long as we have your carvings in stock, we will send your carvings on the day we receive your order (apart from Saturdays and Sundays or NZ public holidays). If we do not have your carving in stock, it will take 3-5 days before we will send you your carvings.
