Gold Weave fabric was intitially required by the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Confederation in order to standardize gi's for competitions. Eventhough it is not required anymore, it has become an industry standard. It is a very resistant fabric, but still light and comfortable.

Satin Weave is a basic weave, characterized by long floats of yarn on the face of the fabric. The yarns are weaved in such a way that there is no visible interlacing pattern, which gives the fabric a smooth, shiny surface.

A 1/ UV degrades Kevlar strength rapidly. Opaque gelcoats halt UV in its tracks. Clear gelcoats may contain UV inhibitors, but they are just to protect the gelcoat - not the lay-up. Even worse, some clear boats are built with no gelcoat. Fabric fibres can be exposed to the other surface. Each fibre has a capillary air void and 'wicking' through the laminate can percolate water into the boat.

Weave is a de-interlacing algorithm that simply weaves the two interlaced fields together to generate a frame. This works well if the image is still, but the slight difference in time between the fields causes a moving object or panning scene to contain edges that appear feathered. Portions of Greek versions of the Gospel of Thomas were found in Oxyrhynchus Egypt about one hundred years ago and these can be dated to about 170 A.D. or so. A complete version in Coptic (the native Egyptian language written in an alphabet derived from the Greek alphabet) was found in Nag Hammadi Egypt in 1945. That version can be dated to about 340 A.D. The Coptic version is a translation of the Greek version.

The Hybrid Weave Gi is a new product developed by Marcelo Machado. The fabric is lighter than a Double Weave, but stronger than a conventional Single Weave. It affords maximum strength without being overly heavy.

A fabric that is not yet married. Just kidding... The Single Weave is what we call in Brazil, the light weave. It has the same twisting as the double weave, but it is lighter.

The Summer Weave is made with a non-twisted fabric, different than the other weaves. Because of that, it is extremely light, but still has strength to it. Summer Weave Gi's are for training on the hottest days.

The Double Weave is the strongest and most durable gi that we offer. It is heavy and can be hot to train in.

It depends on the quality of the human hair used. Typically human hair that is mass produced like the hair from Korea, does not do well with water. When using Korean human hair it is recommended that a dry shampoo is used to clean your scalp. A dry shampoo consists of cleansing the scalp with a damp cloth for several rounds using different cleansing ingredients. Tipping is primarily a personal decision.

Before stenciling the fabric, wash and dry it according to label instructions. This will remove the sizing (chemical coating) in new fabric. If the sizing is not removed, your stencil paint will not bond well with the material. When stenciling on fabric, it is much easier if you can keep the fabric from moving around. Do this by using a light coat of spray adhesive on a piece of cardboard that is about 2" larger than the piece of fabric you want to stencil.

To a Protestant, Henry opened the gate to their religion, even though he did not bring the Protestant movement into England he weakened the Roman Catholic Church to the extent even Mary could not restore it to the prime religion of the country.

This is a question hotly debated by scholars. Many scholars say that it was written at about the same time, even perhaps somewhat before, the gospels in the bible. Their argument is that most of the sayings in Thomas show no signs of having any dependence on, or knowledge of, the Biblical gospels and so Thomas' sayings derive from oral tradition and not from written Biblical texts.

No one knows. The four canonical gospels and Thomas and other gospels such as the Gospel of Philip (found at Nag Hammadi) were given their names some time in the second century. Scholars of the New Testament generally agree that none of the gospels were written by people who had ever met Jesus of Nazareth during his lifetime. But at a later date names were assigned to them that were associated with famous individuals in the earliest church.

We don't know how the texts in the Bible were chosen. Whatever happened occurred principally in the middle of the second century. However the choices were made, it could well have been that Thomas was unknown to those who made them. Or there might have been elements of Thomas that were distasteful to them. Or, given a preference for narrative biographical gospels, Thomas might have been thought irrelevant. We know hardly anything about the process of canonical gospel choice.
