Is the Eclipse available in AWD or RWD?
rd Generation Eclipse FAQNo. The 3rd generation Eclipse is only available as a front wheel drive vehicle. For some reason, some dealerships list the vehicle as "Four Wheel Drive"; it is generally assumed that the person entering the information misinterpreted "FWD" as "Four Wheel Drive" as opposed to "Front Wheel Drive". Replacing the stock intake with an aftermarket one is probably the easiest and most cost effective performance modification that can be currently done on the Eclipse.

Frequently Asked Skyline Conversion Questions | Project R14The GTR is different from most AWD vehicles in that the GTR is actually a RWD car which has the ability to add or subtract FWD. In fact, the car can be fully RWD (100% RWD, 0% FWD) and with a simple change on the controller, it can go from (10%FWD, 90%RWD) all the way to (50% FWD, 50% RWD). Pink Floyd and the Publius Enigma: the Pink Floyd faq (5)Nobody knows. But everyone seems to have heard it at one time... If you listen to the very very end of "Eclipse," and turn your volume up very very high, you will very very faintly hear some music. This has been pointed out several times, but nobody has ever been able to pinpoint exactly what the song is. Some think it's a Beatles song, others, classical music. And why is it there? A studio trick? Or just sound bleeding through from another studio? Truth is, we'll probably never know.

Related QuestionsWhat is the AWD difference between the AT and MT Impreza's?
FAQsLets talk about MT cars first. If you think about the way a viscous limited slip works, it's obvious that "50/50" is a huge oversimplification. Put the car up on a lift and run the engine (not recommended). Now put a brake on the rear driveshaft (i.e., both rear wheels), and measure the torque there. Initially, there will be very little torque as the rear end slows down due to the braking force. 50% of the engine's torque is obviously not going there right now.

Related QuestionsQ - Is the older Torsen-based AWD system better than the new Haldex AWD system?
VWvortex Forums: B6 Passat Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)A - You will see this topic very heavily debated from time to time in our forums. The simple answer for most applications is no. Torsen is a pure mechanical AWD system that, setup in most Audi and VW products, gives a 40/60 torque split front to rear. It operates in AWD all the time. Haldex on the other hand is a fully electonic clutch pack that operates in nearly 100% FWD mode till slip is detected and then locks to 50/50 front to rear torque split.
