How (or where) can I get hardback copies of your books?

Robin Hobb's Home
The best way to be sure of getting a hardback copy of the book is to buy it as soon as it comes out. The hardbacks are allowed to go out of print when the paperback copies come out approximately one year later. If you are looking for hardbacks of the older books, then you may find them in used book stores, on Amazon, on E-bay or on Addall.com. If you are looking for hardbacks of the US editions of the Farseer Trilogy, they simply do not exist.

Frequently Asked Questions - Rebuild Your Back
All three of my books: Rebuild Your Back, Second Edition... Rebuild Your Neck... and The Pain Relief Manual are currently being offered as free thank-you gifts when you make a donation to help support this website. Read More... I decided to run this site on a donation basis because it just seemed like the right thing to do. And even though the past four years have been a struggle, I still feel it's better than the alternative, which would be plastering a bunch of annoying ads all over the place.

Are any Everyman Classics books available in hardback?

ORION PUBLISHING GROUP: Frequently Asked Questions, FAQs: Or...
No, not from us. Some Everyman titles are published in hardback by another company under the imprint Everyman Library, Northburgh House, 10 Northburgh Street, London EC1V 0AT; (020 - 7566 6350). Each year, Orion publishes hundreds of titles and many thousands of copies of these, and usually our books are perfect. Although our books are checked for printing or binding errors, occasionally faulty copies slip through. We are very sorry when this happens.
Related Questions

How do you decide which books should be published in hardback and which in paperback?

W Green
When deciding which format to put a particular book into we carefully consider the nature of the text and who is likely to purchase it. As hardback is more expensive it is unsuitable for student texts. We often put practitioner texts into some form of hardback as this makes them more durable. However, this does have an impact on the price of the work and additionally is only suitable for texts over a certain size.

How Can I Get Signed Copies of Your Books?

Books FAQ - Answers to questions about adventuring, movies, ...
Ioften sign books at local bookstores, so if you live in the Metro-Northwest area of Oregon, you should be able to find signed stock around the time each latest book is released. I am often in the Sisters area near the Metolius and Mt. Jefferson, and around Bend, so you can sometimes find signed stock there (I usually check in at the local grocery at Black Butte when I'm up there every year and sign the books that are brought in).

Most of the books you offer are paperback copies, why is this?

fasbookshelf - FAQ
We are trying to keep our costs as reasonable as possible so we offer what we think the majority of people will want. This means that we purchase the less expensive paperback copy if it is available. Some books only come in hardcover so then we don't have any other option except to offer the hardcover copy. There are some resources where you've listed web addresses so we can get them free, why is this? www.bced.gov.bc.ca/specialed/fas/contents.

Where can I find copies of The Saint books?

The Saint and Leslie Charteris FAQ
this time, most of The Saint books by Leslie Charteris are out-of-print. The last major publishing was in the 1980's by Ace-Charter paperbacks, and it would make sense to reprint them again if a new TV series appears in 2007 or 2008. In the meantime, the Advanced Book Exchange (Abebooks.com) has a great wealth of collectible and reading editions for you to read first-hand about The Saint's adventures. The saint.org website also has a small number of lots on its Saint Books For Sale page at www.

How can I get McCammon to sign my copies of his books?

The Robert McCammon FAQ
McCammon doesn't sign books sent through the mail, so the only ways to get signed books are to catch him at one of the planned book-signing appearances he'll be doing in 2002, or to purchase signed copies from book dealers. You can often find signed editions of McCammon's books for sale on eBay (though I'd stay away from other auction sites---the asking prices are way too high on all the others, though I don't know why).

Where can I find free copies of Heinlein's books and stories to read on the Web?

FAQ: Heinlein's Works
You can't. Hopefully, that is. Any free or unauthorized electronic versions of Heinlein's works that appear on the Web are pirated (meaning: stolen) copies and the copyright owners will stomp on them as soon as possible. Go to Amazon.com or Abebooks to buy copies or go to your library. When Heinlein's works are pirated, the theft is from all of us, and from the future, as the proceeds from sales of Heinlein's works go directly and substantively to our future in space.

How can I get Vidal to autograph copies of his books that I own?

Frequently Asked Questions
That's a tough one. You could attempt to send a copy to Doubleday and then have Doubleday forward it to Vidal at his home in Los Angeles. But I doubt a top New York publisher would do something like that. Vidal used to live in a small town in Italy where everyone knew him. But now he lives in Los Angeles, so you couldn't really send a book to "Gore Vidal, Los Angeles," and hope to have it find him.
