Ultraviolet (UV) causes fading in fabric, degradation of paper, loss of vitamins and riboflavin, and adds to discoloration of food products. It can also be a problem for people suffering from a wide variety of illnesses because they are photosensitive. For instance, as many as 60% of lupus patients are photosensitive and are adversely effected by exposure to UV.

First, it is misleading to compare price on an unprotected lamp and a protected lamp, because you are comparing apples to oranges. Aqueous coating is a waterbased coating applied at the end of the print run. It is used to protect the piece from fingerprints and rough handling. A UV coating is frequently used for the same reason on postcards. Both coatings add an exceptional gloss to your piece.

First of all, it will filter out most of the UV light. A skylight filter will also colour your pictures a little. Because the UV is filtered out, you may notice the sky in your pictures is not as deep blue as it used to be. This is because the UV component is now missing, resulting in another kind of blue on your pictures. Just try a few pictures with and without filter and see what you like best.

Aqueous coating is water based and environmentally friendly. It is not a glossy at UV but it also is not detrimental to the environment. UV coating is a chemical based coating that takes longer to dry but has a much higher gloss than Aqueous.

This coating is available on both sides of all print material as an option at no additional cost to you in most cases. The delivery time on items with the UV coating is slightly longer due to drying time than that of the Aqueous coating.

Using the Drum Shield will improve the sound of your drums by allowing the natural sound and the drum microphone sound to mix appropriately with the overall sound of the band. The deeper more natural drum sound occurs by not allowing your drums to bleed into other microphones (vocal or instrument).
