Our Student Records Department has PSAT, SAT and ACT test scores on the transcripts for some students, but only if the student provided us with his/her correct social security number and put the correct social security number on the test at the time the test was taken. Test scores are posted from a data file purchased from the testing company, so we can't be certain that all information is provided. We are under no requirement to maintain these scores, but do so as a convenience to the students.

We do not ask for either score as part of the application. If these scores are available, we will look at them, particularly in the case of students applying to study science or math. However, we do not value one piece of an application packet over another, but rather look at the whole student. You should submit a new application form, the Behavioral Standards Consent Form, and an up-to-date high school transcript, along with a note stating that you previously attended the program.

A PSAT, SAT, or ACT score is required for admission. If something has prevented you from taking one of the tests, please indicate why in your application materials.

No, official scores must come from the testing center - or they will be considered official if they are posted on the high school transcripts and mailed to the admissions office.

Graduates of accredited high schools with an ACT score of 19 or above on the English and Reading (previously called Social Science) areas and 19 or above on the Mathematics area (SAT verbal of 440 or above; Mathematics score of 470 or above) may be admitted in good standing.

A copy of your score report will be sent to you and the schools you list on your registration form. That might include your high school, if you list its code number, and several colleges or universities. Part of the fee for students taking the test is the cost of sending your score report to colleges, universities, and/or scholarship programs that you designate. In other words, the colleges you list on your registration form will automatically be sent your scores.

If you qualify for special exam arrangements, i.e. un-timed test, readers, or a private testing room, be sure that you use this accommodation. The school cannot use the specialized testing against you when you apply to the university.

SAT or ACT scores are required for all applicants who graduated from high school after 1998. This requirement is waived for transfer students who have completed a minimum of 24 credits with a GPA of at least 2.0.

The chapters will take into account a participant's SAT/ACT scores along with her high school/college grades. If a Potential New Member's scores/grades are low, the chapters will have concern for the possibility of the Potential New Member experiencing difficulty in managing the time commitment required for New Member Education and a busy school schedule.

Without any additional preparation, PSAT scores are a good indication of how the student will perform on the SAT. Students normally take this in October of Grade 11.

The PLAN, a practice ACT, is given in October during the Sophomore year and the PSAT in October of the Junior here at LHN. SAT and ACT tests should be taken during your child's Junior year. Parents should register for the fall, winter or spring dates. Your child can take the ACT and SAT more than once. Mrs. Christian, our college guidance director, will answer any questions.

We do not currently have a minimum requirement for GPA or test scores. However, the incoming class in 2007 had an average GPA of 3.31-3.88, an average SAT score of 1000-1200 (critical reading, math), and an average ACT score of 22-27.

All application materials should be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions along with the Application for Undergraduate Admission. Standardized exam scores must come directly from ACT or College Board to be considered “official.” The Honors College admission decision is made separately from and after the university's admission decision.

If you designated Binghamton University as a school to receive your scores at the time you took the exam, your scores will be sent to us automatically. If you need to have your scores sent to us after you took the exam, call the Educational Testing Service Center at 609-771-7600 and request that your scores be sent to Binghamton University (CEEB code: 2535, ACT code: 2956). DO NOT send your scores RUSH.

You may have read that the average SAT is 1170 or 26 ACT. If you are above those averages and have strong grades, you are doing well. Students with scores below the average should remember that it’s an average and not a minimum. Remember, we take your test scores in context with your entire application. We accept either test. We recommend that you take two tests (two SATs, two ACTs, or one of each). We’ll take your top score. Whatever you do, try to relax while taking the test.

We don't have SAT/ACT "cutoffs" per se, but standardized testing plays an important role in the selection process. Excellence is expected. It would be useful for you to consider the test performance profile of the most recently admitted class. The SAT, including writing, or the ACT plus writing is required for sophomore transfer applicants. Scores should be sent to Carolina directly from the College Board or the high school counselor. Our SAT reporting code is 5816 and our ACT code is 3162. SAT or ACT test scores (with or without the writing section) are optional for junior transfers.

Standardized tests are only one indicator of how well you might perform in college. Of course we like to see high scores if possible, but your day-to-day performance in classes (i.e., GPA) is more important to us. The combination of a mediocre GPA and low test scores will be a concern, however.

Harvard does not have clearly defined, required minimum scores; however, the majority of students admitted to the College represent a range of scores from roughly 600 to 800 on each section of the SAT I as well as on the SAT II Subject Tests. We regard test results as helpful indicators of academic ability and achievement when considered thoughtfully among many other factors.

We do not require the SAT / ACT for admission. However, we do recommend that you still take them. If you have taken the test, feel free to forward your scores to the Office of Admissions for review.

If you had your scores sent to NAU, an advisor can look up your information at Orientation and inform you of your placement. Score a 19 on the ACT or a 470 on the SAT and you can take MAT 110 (College Algebra) or STA 270 (Statistics). For more information about your Mathematics placement level, contact an academic advisor or the NAU Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Yes, both Placement and CLEP exams are available year around at the Counseling & Testing Center.

You will receive a scaled score of 1-36 on each of the 4 ACT tests (you will receive a raw score of 2-12 on your essay that represents the sum of the 1-6 scores from two graders). Your composite score on the ACT is the average of your 4 scores rounded to the nearest integer, so it is also a 1-36 score. Because the SAT and the ACT are completely different tests developed by different companies, their scores cannot be compared directly.

The PSAT (Pre-Scholastic Assessment Test) is normally taken by high school students and serves as a practice test for the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test). The SAT is taken by juniors and seniors as a precursor to college/university admission. It is also an assessment of a student's verbal and mathematical skills.

The SAT is offered seven times a year (October, November, December, January, March, May, June), and the PSAT/NMSQT is offered once a year.(Third Tuesday or Saturday in October.) If the student has not taken the PSAT/NMSQT yet, they still can. You can sign them up as a junior, as long as you show the appropriate graduation date that correlates with them being a junior. According to the National Merit Corporation, the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT are separate tests and grades are not compared.
