Bertrice SmallThis is a difficult question to answer. It's like that old saying: Many are called, but few are chosen. A lot of people have story ideas, and some of those ideas are very good. They just don't know how to put them on paper. There isn't too much hope if you can't transcribe your ideas onto paper, but before you give up entirely, try taking a creative writing course, learn to punctuate and spell. When you have mastered those skills join Romance Writers Of America and then join your local R.W.A.

Rich Geib Frequently Asked QuestionsSometimes I have not the desire to create. But, no, I don't ever get into a tizzy because the prose does not flow. I always try to go with the flow where the creative process is concerned, but it's so hard to completely understand what underpins it. Margaret BuffieWriter's block, for me, happens when I'm really tired, or when a story isn't going the way I want it to. Then I have to take time off, rest and rethink the plot or the character's motives. Once I figure out how to solve the problem I'm back at work. It takes me over a year to write a book because after I finish the first draft, I rewrite it a few times, and then I edit, edit, edit, and that can be very tiring, indeed. However, writer's block doesn't last more than a day or two for me.
