We offer an audio muting service as standard on all our installations, which automatically mutes the stereo when a call is made or received. Most kits are supplied with there own speaker, however, if you require the audio from the kit to be routed through your stereo, please order a 'Premium' installation which includes the audio integration loom, also known as a tele-mute lead in the industry.

If your iPod does not have a Click Wheel, you can do this. If your iPod has a Click Wheel and you've installed iPod Updater 2005-6-26 or later, you won't be able to do this unless you create a playlist of podcasts (in addition the special Podcasts playlist created for you by iTunes); then just listen to that playlist in your car.

In order to change the mode on your car stereo, and switch from Radio, to CD or any other mode, you will need to press the key on the right side of the deck. This key is named MOD, and by pressing this key repeatedly you will read the different modes you are switching to on the LCD display. Note: that if you are switching to CD mode there are actually 2 CD modes, one is for regular CDs and the other one is for MP3 CDs.

Not all cars are purchased with a stereo kit, at the very minimum cars will be shipped with at least a radio and a cassette player CD players are sometimes possible to fit but not always, new can be fitted but at extra cost - new stereo units can be very expensive. All effort is made to ensure stereo systems work before sending and unfortunately non working units are not covered by us.

The donor car can be purchased new from M-Sport, at a cost of £10,750. You may of course source your own donor car. The conversion kit costs £9,100. You must fit all of the conversion kit to your donor car. If you choose a weld in cage option, and we fit this cage in the UK, there is a £1000 extra charge. Other parts are available in the Options Kit, which you may choose to add to the basic Conversion Kit. All parts are listed on the website.

The PS Engineering intercoms are designed to accept a low-level ( less than 3 V P-P) audio signal, like the ones provided by portable devises. Car stereo headphone amplifiers are not referenced to ground, and our intercoms are, so the moment power is turned on, the output amplifier will try its darndest to find ground, even if it has to let the smoke out of components. We recommend using a "Line Level" output from the car stereo.

Yes!!! Most certainly the noise levels obtained from most car stereos can reach levels which are damaging to your hearing, especially with the windows up. Some "high end" car stereos can reach levels which exceed 130-160 dB's!!!!! Even short exposures can permanently damage your hearing. The best advice is to turn the volume down. Once your hearing is damaged (or you develop constant tinnitus) it cannot be repaired so the best action is prevention.

It most certainly can. Prolonged exposure to sound pressure levels above 85dB will cause permanent hearing damage. Professional audio competitions specify the use of hearing protection devices for their contests, especially at higher volume levels. You can test the dB level of your car stereo with a Sound Pressure Level Meter (available at electronics stores).
