Residents live in same-sex suites. There are six suites per building. A maximum of 9 males or females (5 or 6 bedrooms, shared or private) share a suite that surround a living room and bathroom (with 3 sinks, 2 showers and 2 toilets). The private room (single) is 8' x 14'. The shared room (double) is 12' x 14'. Bedrooms are furnished with a standard or extra long twin bed, desk, chair, 4-drawer dresser and a 4' by 2' closet. Glen Eyrie is on the west side of Colorado Springs, just north of the Garden of the Gods. Our physical address is 3820 North 30th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. Glen Eyrie is closed to the general public (does not apply to guests with reservations) on most Federal holidays, including but not limited to: July 4th, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve through New Year's Day. This holiday season, Glen Eyrie will also be closed to all visitors (buildings locked, gate closed) on Nov 23rd and Dec 23rd thru Dec 29th. Glen Eyrie features over 20 miles of trails, ranging from easy to difficult. The general public can hike at Glen Eyrie, but only at specified times (see the next question for details) and in limited numbers. Anyone wishing to hike must come through the gatehouse for a hiking permit. First time hikers must sign a Hiking and Activities Release (PDF file). This release will be kept on file for one year. All hikers must present a valid state issued ID every time they enter the grounds.

Visitors without reservations may come onto the Glen Eyrie property Monday through Thursday, 9AM - 4PM, to hike or take a drive-through tour* (excludes holiday closure dates--please see above). Due to a high volume of weekend conference guests and special events, we are closed to the general public Friday through Sunday. Residents are responsible for keeping their streets free from litter, motor oil and debris. The city of Vallejo sweeps the streets of Glen Cove once each month. The street sweeping schedule (routes 15 through 19) varies by location, but each street is swept once during the last week of each month. Please make an effort to park your car in your garage or in your driveway the night before (or the day of) cleaning to help keep Glen Cove streets clean.

Yes. The Glen Cove Waterfront Park, located at the end of Whitesides Drive, is open to the public. The CA Department of Fish and Game occasionally patrols the area, so be sure you have a current fishing license. Glen Echo was the biggest amusement park in the region for most of its modern history. It operated from 1898 to 1968. The transit company (as in many cities) owned and developed the amusement park and saw the operation of the park as an important method of increasing trolley car ridership.

Yes. One of the things residents enjoy about Glen Cove is the unobstructed greenery and lack of advertising in our neighborhoods. Most CC&R's have tight restrictions on all types of signs. For example, signs (like political signs) are not allowed to be posted in front yards. Temporary signs (like home for sale or garage sale signs) are OK on a temporary basis and have a size restriction.

The daily activities, evening programs and special days are all separate from Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods Camps. This means that your child will be in activities with other campers from his or her camp only. The camps share the same lake with different docks. Your child may see campers from Lake of the Woods and Greenwoods while going to and from a water activity, but they will not be taking activities together. The camps have one main kitchen that is shared with separate dining rooms.
