To some extent it depends upon where you are trying to remove the varnish from. On floors it is easiest to use a drum sander for the majority of the area and then an edge sander around the edges. On other large, flat surfaces belt or orbital sanders may be the best way to go. Of course, there is always the option to hand sand, but that's hard work, so only to be recommended when all else fails. For more awkwardly shaped areas a paint or varnish stripper may be the only practical option.

Professionals use rollers. However, if you are doing one or two rooms, you can achieve better results with a large inexpensive floor brush, which we stock. If doing a hardwood floor in a large area, it would be worth using a roller or T-bar.

The safest way to remove the residue from your paint is with white, made in USA, 100% cotton name brand large bath towels, such as Cannon or FieldCrest. Get them in the bath section at any major department store. The towels that you find in auto parts stores, or the auto sections of the department stores are usually not made in the USA, and even though they may say they are 100% cotton, they are not. Nail technicians remove hangnails with cuticle nippers. The best way to prevent hangnails is to use cuticle cream, oil or lotion that is massaged into the cuticle and nail mantle. Then use a cuticle stick to gently push back the cuticle after you have softened it, which in most cases, eliminates the need to trim cuticles of hangnails. Many acrylics change color to a yellow cast just from wearing them for a long period of time or if a basecoat is not being used under polish.

Wave Corrector is less effective against crackle than against other types of noise. The program is designed to restore vinyl recordings which generally contain discrete clicks rather than constant crackle. Crackle is more typical of old shellac records (78’s). Unfortunately, crackle is a type of noise which is too continuous for click corrections to be totally effective; but it is too impulsive for a hiss filter to be effective.

To help remove Henna from the hair shaft, apply warm mineral oil to the hair.  Leave on 20-25 minutes.  Rinse with warm water.  Shampoo out.  This procedure is good prior to using a perm or chemical tint/color.  It may not remove all of the color, but enough will be removed to perm, color or highlight your hair.

If you are removing a varnish from an oil painting, lightly sand the painting's surface. Then, take turpentine and rub the background to clean the surface. Then, re-paint as normal.

Unless paint is peeling, flaking or detached, it is probably best left alone and appropriately recoated. However, where old paint has become excessively thick and obscuring detail, old paint is best removed by dissolution. Burning or heating can lead to lead poisoning or damage to timber and glass; entire houses have been lost to fire caused by careless use of flame-guns ('blow-lamps'). When disposing of ashes always place ashes in a metal container with a tight fitting lid.

It is recommended that you remove cream with the spatula provided and then rinse off any remaining residue with warm water.

Cleaning windows with out streaks is easy. First of all always use streak free window cleaner, and two towels. Use the first towel for initial wiping and the other towel to polish or dry the glass. The second towel removes the streaks, and it should never be wet. By attention to the edges and corners of the glass.

Scuff marks can be difficult to remove but Spic And Span liquid can usually get the job done. For best results pour Spic And Span directly onto a moist sponge and squeeze a few times to distribute the cleanser into the sponge. Rub the sponge directly onto the scuff mark with a moderate amount of pressure. Repeat the entire procedure until the scuff mark is gone. Then rinse the sponge and wipe the spot clean. When cleaning wood floors, always test a small area first.

Acucraft full masonry Fireplace Systems have the options of an ash chute which allows the ashes to be cleaned out by an access door. When disposing of ashes, always place the ashes in an air tight, metal container. The closed container of ashes should be placed on a non-combustible floor or on the ground, well away from combustible materials until their final disposal.

If it becomes necessary to remove the siding, it is recommended that it be removed with minimal breakage. To do this it should not be hammered, sawn, or dropped. Siding should be removed in whole pieces and then carried or lowered to the disposal area (instead of letting it drop to the ground).
