Look at the back of the PC where the network cable connects to the PC, most cards will have lights that indicate that the connection is active.

The network or wireless PC Card provided with the Air2Data kit is called a PCMCIA Card or PC Card. Almost all laptops have one or more PC Card slots. Some laptop manufacturers place a plastic cover over these slots. Often you must remove the plastic cover by using the adjacent eject button or latch. We have provided a picture of a few different styles under our Troubleshooting Guide below.

Stop the MediaMVP services. Click on Start, Programs (or All Programs), Hauppauge MediaMVP, and then Stop. Locate the My Computer icon on your desktop or in your Start menu. The animations require Macromedia Flash Player plug-in. While Netscape bundles Flash Player, you have to download it from www.macromedia.com if you use IE or Firefox. Older versions cannot recognize the dynamic HTML used in the tables.

Upgrade to 0.7.2 or newer. Older versions have a bug in Slirp caused by a 64/32 bit mismatch. Newer versions have a workaround for this, though the Slirp code really needs to be cleaned up at some point. If you can't find smbserver in My Network Places, try searching for it, e.g. (on Windows 2000) Start -> Search -> Files or folders -> Computers, then search for "smbserver". We found this value using Airopeek, which is a wireless sniffer. However, you do not have to use this expensive tool. An easier way to measure this number is using the utility we provide with our distribution of MultiNet, called multinethelper.exe. The command multinethelper.exe -getCardSwitchTime gives the time taken by the card to switch to a network.

You should try increasing the switch time using "multinet changeparams -switch ". Also make sure the wireless zero config is turned off, and you are able to connect to the network. A way to check for connectivity is by following these steps. Firstly, turn off the MultiNet service, using "net stop MultiNetService". If the remote computer is on a network, and SpyAnywhere is already installed, you can either access it externally from the network, or locally on the network. If you are on the same network, then just enter in http://workstation_name, or http://ip_address into your browser to view the computer. However, if you are outside of the network you will have to enable port forwarding on the network router to let you access the machine. Please see Question 7 above for more information on port forwarding.

Boot up at DOS. Execute the "LSL" from diskette and execute "RTSODI" from diskette. Check the messages that echo in screen. If that IRQ will conflict with other devices, then change the IRQ of PCI slot from "Auto" to "Fix"

If your company employs an MIS manager or systems administrator, and you are uncertain if the virus resides in your computer memory or on a floppy disk, leave your PC on and immediately notify them of a possible problem. They will be able to best evaluate how to proceed. If you suspect the virus is residing in your computer memory (RAM) and you are connected to a network, immediately turn off your computer and notify your MIS manager or systems administrator.

You will need to allow the Dynamic Trend Profile access to the Internet. Generally, when a new program tries to access the Internet on a PC that has a firewall on it, the firewall will ask if you would like to permit or deny it access. You will need to permit the Dynamic Trend Profile access to the Internet for it to work properly. After being prompted for access it may be necessary to restart the Dynamic Trend Profile so it can fully access the Internet.

Some manufacturers make special grpahcis cards for PCs which allow PC to be succesfully used with fixed frequency monitors. The MPR5000 and the MPR6000 utilize the same RFID reader engine. The MPR5000 is a 1/2 watt reader that has an integrated antenna for mobile applications. The MPR6000 is the same reader without an integrated antenna; it has two antenna ports with MMCX jacks for applications that require external antennas. The MPR7000 is a 1 watt reader that has two MMCX connectors and can only be used in serial communications mode.
