Yes. However, Exceed 6.2 or 7.1 or newer with Exceed 3D must be installed on your PC. Exceed is a X-server package for Windows. Exceed 3D extends the X-server with the remote GL library. Remote GL allows hardware support on the local PC box. Abaqus CAE has not been certified with other freeware X-servers for Windows like CYGWIN though you can try to download and use them on your own. Abaqus CAE should be displayed fine on all UNIX workstations, including Linux with remote GL support like Red Hat

If your site only allows command execution on other machines on the same network file system using ssh, the comms daemon may hang when you try to add a solver station. SSH is waiting for a password, which we cannot send securely via the comms tool. The way to work around this is described in the man page for ssh. Follow these steps to avoid typing in your password: On the machine from which you want to run the comms tool, run ssh-keygen (if you don't have a key already).

I've run QC on a 550Mhz G4 powerbook with a 16MB Radeon 7000 and can get decent performance on simple compositions. If you run with dual displays in monitor spanning you need 16MB per display, so a 32MB card is required. Quartz Composer is a high level modular authoring environment that uses Core Image and OpenGL to render a scene.

Paper and ink supplies for the photocopiers are checked several times each day, but during busy times of the semester they might run out; please ask at the Circulation Desk to have paper and ink replaced. Also during busy times of the semester, there may be lines of people waiting to use the machines. We have as many photocopiers as we can afford, so we recommend planning ahead as much as possible or making copies early or late in the day.

Many machines are stored in this area. 6' X 6" skids are the basis for these shelters that comfortably house 2 machines each. There is also under cover storage between some of the sheds and those parts machines have an additional tarp over them for protection. In the gararge there are usually about 4 machines waiting for use and that same number waiting for some sort of attention.

Currently, V-GUI focuses on structural (connectivity) model aspects only. State machine description would involve the behavior aspects, so we do not plan on addressing this in the near-term. However in the long-term, we plan to add state-machine and data-flow modes, with their respective code-export functions. This should be relatively straight-forward to implement on V-GUI's basic graphical paradigm. There are many open issues about the generated code-style.
