The most timely option of distributing excess aid and/or refunds is to have it deposited on your EagleCard. This will allow you to get your aid/refund almost instantly and allows you to spend your money anywhere on campus that accepts the EagleCard. If you have a credit balance and wish to have it transferred to your EagleCard, please call the Business Office and ask for Accounts Receivable. Another option is to sign up for Direct Deposit.

A credit balance is created when the credits (e.g. personal payments, financial aid payments, etc.) applied to a student account are in excess of the debits (charges) on the account. If a student's finalized financial aid exceeds their charges, they will be given an exchange check for the amount of the overpayment. Stafford and PLUS loan monies may be disbursed no earlier than the end of the second week of the semester; PELL and TAP grants are typically not disbursed until after the fifth week of the semester. Students receiving Federal Title IV financial aid (i.e. Perkins Loans, all types of Stafford Loans, and Pell Grants) will automatically receive a refund. On dialing the access number from any phone number which is previously registered with us, the available call credit will be announced in Dollars and Cents. After entering the destination number, the number of available minutes to that number will be announced.

You may receive a refund if you have a current credit balance on your account. All pending funds must be disbursed to your account prior to the refund being issued. If your account was paid by credit card, the refund will need to be issued back to the credit card. All refunds must be requested by completing a refund form. A credit balance is determined by the sum of a fund's asset, income and expense amounts, excluding interest income, in the prior closed month as posted in the general ledger.

There are two options if you have a credit balance on your account. If you plan to enroll in another GLSP course, you can simply leave the credit on your account and it will automatically be applied to your next term's tuition. For the student living a distance from campus, the regular Declining Balance Account is a convenient alternative to the All Campus Meal Membership. The Regular Declining Balance Account allows the student to deposit funds at any time. The account is accepted at all Gator Dining locations. There is no fee to establish the account and no minimum balance to maintain. Any unused balance carries forward from semester to semester and from year to year until you graduate or leave school.
