You could probably learn all of the information in the birth class in a single weekend, but you wouldn’t remember much in labor and it could make your brain hurt! Twelve weeks of natural childbirth classes allows the information to sink in, and gives you time to get your body in shape. Our own students at the University of Minnesota (UMN) also need 6 weeks of field camp to receive their Bachelor of Science degrees. When the internship is during a Convention year (even years), the intern will travel to the Convention with the staff of Fraternity Headquarters. She will help design, install and operate the Museums exhibit at Convention. When the internship is not during a convention year (odd years), the intern and the Archivist/Curator will travel to The Stewart House in Monmouth, Illinois. They will provide professional support as needed by The Stewart House at that time.
