Your room will be furnished with a bed, dresser, chair, closet and desk. The beds are all extra long twin (36x80). Most rooms are carpeted (all of Sorin and the Heights). Your residence hall room is equipped with a university telephone line. You are responsible for providing your own telephone but voicemail, caller ID and call waiting are all provided. All residents also have access to a free daily (M-F) delivery of the New York Times and the Saint Paul Pioneer Press and free laundry.

Your c/c will be able to lock the room, so have him leave everything but the dirty laundry, and there'll be LOTS of that! Be sure your c/c collects any items that were removed from him at orientation (usually the cadet officers will take a few things out of the c/c bag and place them in a Ziploc labeled with the c/c name). When they come back, that's when they bring their computers, clocks, etc. that they couldn't have at orientation.

No. Campers are not permitted to plug phones into the Dobie Dorm telephone outlets. There are pay phones in the Dobie Dorm lobby. Campers are permitted to bring cellular phones but they are not allowed in the gym.

After an ethernet card has been properly installed in your computer and you have an ethernet cable, then follow the procedure that was provided to you in the brochure "Students' Guide to Computing Services at Rutgers 2002-2003" in the section entitlled "Getting Started for All Residential Students". You may bring small electronic devices including computers, hairdryers, gaming devices, etc. You may also bring a dorm-size refrigerator, room fans, window fans, etc. You may NOT bring any kitchen appliances, air conditioners, etc., UNLESS you have a medical condition that requires any of these devices, AND you have sufficent documentation documenting dis. Usually there are two students per dorm room and each room is furnished with either wardrobes or small closets. Students do not need an excess of clothing, as they will wear the uniform five days a week. Furniture and large trunks, are not permitted.

All of the on-campus residence halls have direct, high-speed Internet access. If you have a computer with a compatible Ethernet card, you will be able to connect your machine to the university network and the Internet. To assist residents with connecting to ResNet, Information Technology Services (ITS) has established a ResNet Help Desk (available by calling 5-2666) and a ResNet service center located in the main lobby of the Cheyenne Arapaho residence hall.

No. Denison University will be 95% wireless by the fall of 2006. Personal wireless access points and wireless routers are known to interfere with the wireless service the University provides. Therefore, these devices are not permitted on campus. Routers without wireless service and mini-switches are still welcome. Yes. Yes, to answer the second call, press the switch hook or the flash button on a cordless phone, wait for the three short beeps and then press *9. Yes, although some answering machines may not recognize distinct ringing. If your machine does not recognize distinct ringing, call the Telecommunications Center (5922) for further instructions.

Most dorm rooms at MIT have one (1) RJ-45 Ethernet drop. As dorms are renovated, more drops may be installed. Currently the following dorms have two (2) Ethernet drops per person:

Some of the things that are allowed in your room include: TVs, VCRs, stereos, refrigerators, fans, etc. You cannot have hot plates or microwaves in your rooms. Housing will provide you with a complete list once you have paid your housing deposit.

The Schools vary. Some are four in a room (bunk beds). Some dorm situations are set up like military barracks where eight to fourteen share one extremely large barrack style room comfortably. Separate bathrooms and shower stalls.

Yes, but only if you have special permission from the associate dean of students for residence life. Permission is granted if you have a sibling who has to arrive early, if youâ??re an international student, or if youâ??re arriving by air. Students who donâ??t meet the above criteria but still want to move in early will be assessed a $40 fee per night. This applies to moving your belongings in early, as well. Please do not ask for exceptions.

You will need to contact Public Safety (X7911). If your key has been stolen or lost, contact Facilities Services. The locksmith will recore your lock and issue new keys. The fine for recoring a room lock is $50.

In the August and January sessions, all dormitory rooms are doubles or triples. You will be assigned a Pitzer student as a roommate. Your room will have a bed, mattress, desk, chair, shelves, closet and drawers. Bed linens can be purchased at cost at the International Programs Office (for about $50 for sheets, pillow and blanket). Yes you can ? if you and your friend of the same gender check-in on campus at the same time you can request to room together. Please note that we DO NOT make rooming arrangements at the Business Week office. Rooms are assigned on campus at time of check in. We strongly encourage rooming with an unfamiliar person, as it is part of the Business Week/college experience.

Rooms do not come with internet access. You may request internet access for an additional fee of $30 for one week, $60 for two weeks or $75 for three or more weeks. You can make this request once you are on campus at the Residential Computing desk on the 2nd floor of Meyer Library. You will need to provide your hardware ethernet address and Dorm name and room number. Note: it can take up to 24 hours for internet access to be established in your room.

Students connecting to the campus network from their dorm room are able to print to the lab laser printers. See the ResNet pages for the correct way to configure your system for printing access.

Students will have access to the design studio whenever the university is open. Internet access is provided at every studio desk so email, paper writing, and other academic requirements for support courses can be done in the studio. We recognize that it is not always convenient to work in the studio and for those occasions students may want to purchase a “less-capable” computer – either desktop or laptop. However, please note that this is in no way required or necessary.

Yes. Each dorm room, with the exception of the Schafer dorms, has two network connections. Schafer A, B, and C and the Village dorms have a wireless network. These connections will allow you access to the Internet and to your own personal network drive where you can store files including your mail and a web page if you wish to create one.
