Initially, Freespire will be available for the PC x86 platform. However, because Freespire is a community project, we encourage others to get involved in making Freespire available for other platforms and architectures as well, such as AMD64, Intel Dual Core and Mac.

Although we support plenty of platforms, we do not package Mono in binary form for all of the supported platforms.

Debian GNU/Linux includes complete source-code for all of the included programs, so it should work on all systems which are supported by the Linux kernel; see the Linux FAQ for details. The current Debian GNU/Linux release, 3.

Xen currently runs only on the x86 architecture, requiring a "P6" or newer processor (that's any Intel or AMD x86 CPU purchased in the last five years). Multiprocessor machines are supported, including basic support for Hyper-Threading (SMT). Support for x86/64 is available since Xen 3.0. In addition a port to the IA64 architecture is approaching completion. We hope to add other architectures such as PPC and ARM in due course.

In general, any modern Unix-compatible platform should be able to run PostgreSQL. The platforms that had received explicit testing at the time of release are listed in the installation instructions. PostgreSQL also runs natively on Microsoft Windows NT-based operating systems like Win2000, WinXP, and Win2003. A prepackaged installer is available at http://pgfoundry.org/projects/pginstaller. MSDOS-based versions of Windows (Win95, Win98, WinMe) can run PostgreSQL using Cygwin.

Mono today ships with a Just-in-Time compiler for x86-based systems. It is tested regularly on Linux, FreeBSD and Windows (with the XP/NT core). There is also an interpreter, which is slower that runs on the s390, SPARC and PowerPC architectures.

The primary target platforms for WebAuth development are Solaris and Linux, but the code should be portable to any Unix system. Most of Jove is written in the Java 5.0 language, and should therefore work on any platform with a Java 5.0 JDK. Specifically, Java-only behavioral simulations should work on any Java platform.
