Can I copy/paste a table from an MPD web page into Excel or MS Word?

MPD - FAQ - frequently asked questions / hints
YES. Most MPD data tables can be copy/pasted directly into Microsoft Excel for local manipulation and analysis. This works with MSIE and Firefox browsers, and maybe others: For best results set black line table borders preference first. Click on Preferences at the top of any MPD page. After you've set the black lines preference, refresh the page that has the table on it. With the desired MPD table showing in your browser, select the table by dragging downward over it with the mouse.

This happens when you are trying to copy from ISO8519-1 or any other non-UTF type to UTF-8. EditLive! supports only UTF-8 for copy and pasting. The problem can be resolved by setting the document character set to UTF-8 instead of ISO-8859-1 or any other non-UTF document character set. On a base level, the main difference between EditLive! and EditLive! for XML is the type of content they edit.

The simple answer is: copy and paste from Word or Excel into a CityDesk article. We do not really advise to do this except for tables formatted in Excel (CityDesk currently does not have any intrinsic support for table formatting). When you copy and paste from an MS Office application into CityDesk all formatting will also be transferred resulting in rather messy HTML code within the CityDesk article.
