The Portadrillmini is a mechanical pull down system. There are no hydraulic-powered systems on the unit. The dual action winch provides the means in which the operator lowers or raises the engine.

A well in the Barnett Shale typically takes 20 to 30 days to drill. However, depending on the area, multiple wells may be drilled consecutively on one site. When drilling is completed, the drilling rig is removed and a smaller completion rig is put into place. After the completion rig is finished, frac trucks arrive for the fracturing process which takes an additional 4 to 6 days. Finally, a wellhead (or “Christmas tree”) is installed along with a few storage tanks.

Laser drilling is used to improve the appearance of diamonds with dark imperfections. The most common procedure uses a fine laser beam to tunnel into a diamond and burn the existing inclusion, which is further lightened with acid. No. In all of our crash tests we used the cheapest, full-face helmet we could find — fiberglass, not Kevlar® — just to see if it would survive. For our first test we purposely used a weak connection on one side and a strong connection on the other. The weak connection ripped out of the fiberglass shell and all of the load (nearly one ton) went to the other connection, which did not break. We then used the same helmet, with strong connections, in the next test.

In South Africa in 1995 I needed to replace Atom's mast because of corrosion between the aluminum and the bronze sail track attached to it by stainless screws. First connect one rope to a solid structure (such as a ceiling beam or a tree branch).
