Teaching American History grants will support programs to raise student achievement by improving teachers' knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of American history. Grant awards will assist local educational agencies (LEAs), in partnership with entities that have extensive content expertise, to develop, document, evaluate, and disseminate innovative, cohesive models of professional development.

In the final year of the Engineering Mathematics programmes, students work in pairs or by themselves on a technical research project of their own. The topic is either chosen from a list of suggestions made by members of staff, or is proposed by the student(s). The project is the largest and most important piece of work they do. It is a creative exercise and is usually a very rewarding experience. Listed below are the titles of a selection of recent projects together with short descriptions.

Advanced Standing students are enrolled together in a non-credit integrative field seminar that meets more frequently in the fall and less so as the year progresses. In the seminar, you garner support via your classmates as well as from the director of the program, who facilitates this group experience. In addition, the director remains available to you throughout your experience for academic planning and support.

By the time you finish the Television Arts degree program, you will have produced your own: 1) Music Video; 2) Drama Production with professional actors, original music, ADR, foley, and sfx; 3) Documentary Program; 4) TV Commercial or Public Service Announcement (PSA); and 5) Videographic Production. All of your productions are then placed on a DVD so that you will have a portfolio demo reel to show prospective employers in the industry.

All projects from around the world must demonstrate that they achieve a significant contribution in terms of reducing carbon emissions in real terms. Only projects where there is a real additional and measurable carbon saving will qualify for funding. At the same time, we will look for wider social benefits to be built into projects which favour the environment; wildlife; pro poor policies and community improvements.
