MKS Toolkit supports standard UNIX facilities for exchanging files between the two platforms, including rcp and FTP. For most applications Linux source code is compatible with other Unix systems. However in the Unix business such claim has nearly no value because there is no way to prove it. You will also find that sites hosted in Unix/Linux systems are typically more reliable and stable than Windows based systems. The cost is also going to be lower because Linux operating systems are available for free.

During development, we have both Unix boxes running Samba and NT/Windows 95/98 machines. We often build with cross-compilers under Unix and copy binaries and source to the Windows system or just toy with them directly off the Samba-mounted partition.
