These markers were prototypes and the design was shelved due to performance limits. A closed bolt Shocker SFT/NXT will never be released. The design will not be revisited. Ever. Stop propagating this rumor.

NXT is the name of the current model Shocker. This marker is built on the same principals and design of the Shocker SFT, however many of its support features and stock parts have been redesigned and/or upgraded. Read below for details.

Vertical adapter: The vertical adapters from an SFT can be used on an NXT. However, the vertical adapters on an NXT can't be used on an SFT (not without modification). Electronics: As long as the lower board is programmed for NXT beam-break eyes, it will work on a Shocker NXT. Boards not programmed for the eyes can't function unless there's a massive hardware modification (information for this coming soon).

No. Although it is true that most Shocker boards have beam-break ability, these boards are only compatible with the NXT Shocker's stock beam-break eyes. They won't work with a custom installed eye set since there's no reliable way to attach the eyes to the board. This is due to both hardware and firmware; there are ways around it but the end result would be a hack job and I don't want to encourage that. Milling an SFT body to accept NXT eyes is possible, however it would require a lot of work.

This is a list of the advancements and new stock parts. This the approximately equivalent to over $250 worth of upgrades in the previous Shocker models, not including the parts that are completely incompatible and thus don't really have a cash value. Milled to match the contours of the new body milling; expose no external parts (anodized to match); concealed screw for removal.

Shocker NXTs use Impulse/Ion threaded barrels, which will also fit a Nerve, SP8, and Epiphany. Shocker threads have been discontinued.

The markers are no longer made so the only way you can find one "NiB" would be to find a retailer that still has it in stock. At this point (late 2006) there are many left out there, however they will disappear very quickly since they are much cheaper than the NXT models. (Their price was decreased several months ago to the current price of $550 in anticipation of the NXT).

Some aftermarket board developers have provided a programming revision that will allow their boards to function with the NXT eyes. Stock/Nerve and Blackheart boards are compatible as of August 2006. SP doesn't offer a reflashing service.

Various types of pumps can be used for supercritical fluid applications. For medium to large volume processes, a pneumatic booster pump is most often used. A diaphragm pushes against a piston to compress the liquid carbon dioxide to a set pressure point. The air that drives the pump increases the liquid carbon dioxide pressure (boosts) in a ratio of about 100 to 1. So for every 1 psi of air delivered to the pump, the carbon dioxide pressure is boosted by 100 psi. (i.e. Air at 50 psi.

The actual efficiency rates varies somewhat from gun to gun. Generally, markers yield between 700 to 900 on a 68/4500 (this is only what I have observed). There are, however, multiple aftermarket bolt kits available which will increase your efficiency.

Once the teams are selected, they will practice Monday thru Thursday 2:30 - 5:15pm. From 2:30 to 4:15 the teams will practice on the lanes. The Defroster switch is on an 11 minute timer relay which goes under the dash. The switch is on a wire "leash" to allow positioning the LED lighted touch switch any place in the dash or under using the mounting flange. The mounting switch plate is 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) long, 1 (2.54 cm) inch wide, with a 9/16 (14.28 mm) inch mounting hole. The button is a touch button so do not expect it to click, move or switch until you put power to it.

The Shocker Bowling Program trains the selected athletes on the teams on 5 different tracks. First there are the team practice sessions that are Monday through Thursday, 2:30-5:15pm. These sessions work the entire group on skill, adjustment, and competition training. Second, the workout sessions at the end of each team practice session are designed to improve the physical conditioning of the team members.

Recharable batteries do not have the same voltage as alkaline batteries. Alkalines are 1.5 volts a cell for a total of 9.0 volts in an NXT (or RCX). NIMH cells are about 1.2 volts per cell. If the battery had six cells inside you would expect to see about 7.2 volts. But the NXT recharable battery has 7 cells for a total of ABOUT 8.4 volts. As such, 8.4 volts is about what you should expect to see. The fact that you have 'lost' 0.7-0.8 volts compared to alkalines should not be a concern.

I suggest using an HP tank with it because the Shocker, as well as 99% of all other guns, are designed to work with HP tanks. LP tanks are only needed on a specific type of Angel, if you don't own that then don't worry about it. Some LP tanks aren't fast enough to perform well on a Shocker.

Most aftermarket regulators that will work on other electropneumatics will function on the Shocker, so long as they can regulate to a low enough pressure and be able to keep up with the necessary recharge rates.

I've had a report that some markers don't work in the Apple Macintosh Safari web browser. I haven't been able to confirm this myself, but the problem may have to do with the URL for the marker. If the failing marker URL contains the two letters "q=", try deleting the part of the URL from there through to the next "&". After deleting that section of the URL, you should still have a "ll=" and a "spn=" in there somewhere.
